About
Exotic Jungle Pet Supply has anchored Morgantown's pet scene for roughly 40 years, and it remains the kind of sprawling, lived-in shop that no big-box chain can imitate. Walk in and the place feels more like a menagerie than a store: tortoises ambling across the floor, resident animals like Pearl greeting regulars, and room after room of livestock and supplies packed deeper than you'd expect. It's the local alternative Morgantown, WV fishkeepers reach for when they want something the chains simply don't stock, and some customers happily drive close to an hour to get here.
The freshwater fish department is the real draw. The owner is known for constantly bringing in new and different fish, and regulars praise the quality of what shows up. You'll find a solid cichlid selection, including the larger, show-size specimens that are hard to track down, plus bettas, albino plecos, and electric blue rams for sale in Morgantown, WV.
Live aquarium plants are another strength: one shopper had a staff member hand-pick plants for her tank, ask the gender of her betta, and send her home with healthy stock that had her fish building a bubble nest within days. If you keep reptiles or feed live, the feeder fish here are a local fixture too, with regulars repeatedly calling them the best feeders around at fair prices, and there's a genuinely nice selection of driftwood for aquascaping. Service tends to be what people remember.
Staff greet you at the door and take time to answer questions, whether you're choosing your first betta or stocking a planted tank. As an honest heads-up, a steady minority of reviews flag cluttered aisles and tanks that aren't always pristine, so it's worth a close look before you buy. Even so, for hands-on guidance and the fancier freshwater fish available in Morgantown, WV that the chains don't carry, this long-running family-run fish store keeps a loyal following coming back.

— Diane Wilson4.0a week ago“Not a very good store. Owner is rude and it’s dirty and animals aren’t taken care of. Everything is overpriced and half of the stuff isn’t even priced and they don’t know how much it is. They use an old system to tag stuff and manually put it in the cash register and they don’t even know their own policies! There are signs saying no returns but also signs saying in store credit. No one knows what they are doing”
— Gaming with Green1.02 weeks ago“This is absolutely the worst place.. We traveled 2 hours to get a Mexican king snake. THIS WAS JUST WAS TODAY.. We had everything for him just wasn't to her satisfaction so she wouldn't let us get.. If this not BS MY DAUGHTER WANNA HIM SHE A KID.. ILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN I HOPE SHE GETS SHUTDOWN..”
— Elaine Pritt1.04 weeks ago“They have tortoises they let walk thru store.”
— Elizabeth Crowell5.0a month ago“Love the fish selection! The owner is always getting in different fish and I absolutely love the quality!”
— Lee Romine5.0a month ago“They had a visibly dying jumping spider kept in awful conditions. I keep and breed jumping spiders so I know how they should be kept and this wasn’t it. They wanted 40 for it. They then asked the boss what to do and they said they had to “keep it, to send in proof that it’s how it came” was insane, they decided to let it sit there and die instead of letting me help save it. It’s legs were starting to curl, it’s abdomen was flat (severely starving and extremely dehydrated) and it was being kept in a container with extremely dry dirt. This is sad to see in a family ran pet store.”
— Abby Hicks1.0a month ago“Went in to purchase our first ball python. Avery was incredible to work with. She answered every question and showed us everything we needed and more. She was so friendly and made sure we knew what we were doing setting up our first enclosure. I would give way more than 5 stars if I could!”

— Mike Yriart5.02 months ago“Nice pet store. Most of the fish tanks were empty or unkempt. Very nice selection of driftwood. The whole store was stuffed with pet supplies.”
