About
All Things Aquariums is an independent fish and aquarium store in Wilsonville, OR, serving aquarists across the southern Portland metro who would rather see their fish in person than fight traffic into the city. It earns the 'aquarium store' label honestly: alongside a deep freshwater inventory, it keeps a real saltwater section, with corals, reef fish, and marine setups that longtime customers single out as a standout on this side of town. The shop has entered an energetic new chapter under a new owner who took over the business about eight months ago.
Regulars describe her as friendly, genuinely passionate, and quick to walk you through every tank — one first-timer wrote that she 'showed me around the store and told me about all the fish they had,' then admitted regretting having stopped at the big-box pet store first. She is turning over the tanks one by one, and recent visitors note the freshwater plants are thriving with no melting and that any sick fish are clearly marked while held in quarantine. What keeps people coming back is the livestock you won't find at a chain.
Shoppers have gone home happy with pea puffers, rummy nose tetras, hillstream loaches, female bettas, and Malaysian trumpet snails — and the guppies are a draw of their own, large, vivid dumbo guppies and other livebearers a cut above the usual. If you're searching for unusual freshwater fish for sale in Wilsonville, OR, or live coral and reef fish near me, this is the kind of shop where you can study a fish in its tank before it ever comes home with you. You'll also find floating plants, blue shrimp, water treatments, fish food, and filtration gear, with fair prices that reviewers mention again and again.
The owner happily talks community stocking, answers questions at length, and will even pack a foam box so your new fish ride home safely — exactly the hands-on, local experience a neighborhood walk-in shop is built around.

“When I walked in the person was just sitting behind the counter. All the aquariums had some sort of issues whether it was algea, death or some sort of aquarium issue. Definitely not recommended non of the fish looked happy or healthy.”
— Godzilla for the Win1.05 days ago“I had a phenomenal experience here. As soon as we walking in we were greeted with kindness and compassion. We met the owner Elisa and she was super friendly and knowledgeable. She showed me around the store and told me about all the fish they had and all about them. I got to learn she just took over the business about 8 months ago and is actively working to improve her tanks and store. She is so passionate about the fish and it was so cool to hear about all her plans. Regret even stepping foot into pet-smart prior to this, will be back for sure!”

— Max Vision5.03 weeks ago“My name is Toni and today was my first visit to these guys! Super awesome and friendly and they know their fish super good and what community members work best with. I enjoyed them very much. Will be coming back for more! They also helped me with a foamed box for best travel for the fishes. They really care for our future pets. THANK YOU GUYS”
— Tonanzin Valle5.0a month ago“The store is progressing nicely. The new owner has done amazing, while there is still lots to do, I'm quite confident all will be as she has envisioned it. All the fish looked healthy, even the ones in current quarantine. The freashwater plants are thriving and I didn't see any signs of melting. I didn't look over her saltwater tanks since I know less than nothing about saltwater fish. Her prices were fair and I'll be back”
— Pamela Shipp5.0a month ago“This was sad 😕 it is really dirty! I know people here normally eat the fish but that would probably be better for these fish”
— Krystal Marsell2.02 months ago“I recently visited this aquarium store with high expectations with my girlfriend. Seing all the photos of how properly the tanks were glisinning and clean with happy fish. But my experience walking in was a nightmare and extremely disturbing. 🚩 The first thing I noticed was the condition of the tanks. Many of them were visibily NASTY. Some of the buildup algae was so bad on the tanks it was starting to literally MOLD. buildup covering the glass and decorations. completely unacceptable for a place that is supposed to care for aquatic life. So much buildup and it was clear that regular maintenance and cleaning are not being done on any of the tanks or filters for months or ever at all. Not sure if these people even do water changes. All I saw from walking in to out was the staff standing at the front desk chatting with each other and standing around. THESE PEOPLE DO NOT CLEAN THE TANKS 👎🏻 Even more troubling was the condition of the fish. Most of these fish looked visibly sick, stressed, or near death. lethargic behavior, poor coloration, and fish isolating themselves— illness from poor water quality. Dead and molding fish just sitting in these nasty tanks for weeks with the other fish in there. It made me sick to my stomach seeing these beautiful animals being kept in such conditions. ❌ Despite the poor health of these sick and dying fish, the prices were surprisingly high. Charging premium prices for visibly unhealthy livestock feels unethical and misleading, especially for customers who may not recognize the signs of disease. To make matters worse, the customer service was very uncomfortable. When I tried to document what I was seeing, I was approached in a confrontational way. and accused of “taking photos of sick fish” which felt both unprofessional defensive and uncomfortable. Instead of addressing the concerns, the staff wanted me out. If you run a fish store you should TAKE CARE OF THE FISH and the tanks. A little bit of love and care is all these fish need. All I saw was laziness, neglect, and lack of care. I've seen children take better care of fish than this store I do not recommend this aquarium to anyone. The lack of proper care for the fish, combined with horrible tank maintenance and rude and unprofessional customer service, raises serious concerns about their standards and ethics. These people should not be allowed to run a fish store. This is straight up animal abuse ❌👎🏻”
— Skyleo Manning1.0Edited 3 months ago“Store is under new ownership is seems. Had a nice talk with the new owner when I stepped in on a whim a few days ago for the first time in maybe six months. She seems nice and is very knowledgeable about the fish/inverts that she has. It's also obvious that the store is in a transitory period with many of the tanks looking like they have been recently redone and others looking like they are behind on the maintenance. It's actually quite the improvement from the last time I was in the store when it was dark, dingy, had very little stock, every tank looked rough and the guy working(?) there just sat at the desk the entire time. I did check the stock and sick fish were marked as in quarantine (which having been in the industry in the past isn't necessarily a store thing, it can often be a poor supplier thing). The other fish in the tanks appeared healthy and active even in tanks that needed some work. There was also a nice variety of consisting of more than your usual everyone has them type fish. Personally I would have like to have seen more corys, but I think that about every store so it's not an indictment. Overall I quite like the store and think in time it will be quite nice once the new owner has had the time to turn over all the tanks. I look forward to visiting again and seeing the progress.”
— Rufus5.03 months ago“Came here with high hopes of showing my daughter some fun fish to look at based on the photos associated with this business, but was extremely disappointed. The tanks were incredibly dirty and the fish themselves didn’t appear to be in great condition either, which was really discouraging to see. The staff member there was friendly, which I appreciated, but unfortunately this trip ended up being a total bust.”
