“All I have to say is if you’re looking for a rare fish and this is the only place that has them in your area, consider having fish shipped to you or ask another place to order them for you. Based on the AI PROGRAMMING responses they’ve given to other people in my situation, you basically have to be an aquarium expert to buy fish from these guys and I’m far from that. You have to be able to look at the fish they have in their tanks and diagnose any diseases they might have based on their swimming patterns and appearance because they accept no responsibility or customer service confidence in their product. While I’m no expect, this wasn’t the store I should have come to based on how they responded to people already. Moreover, their prices are super inflated even for plants. I decided to get myself some Medaka Rice Fish which are Very hard to find around here and they were the only ones that had them. Been looking for a while and while I was thinking about going back to get some more, based on their customer service, I won’t be going back there. I thought they were over priced and I wished I just waited. These fish are supposed to be very hardy and supposed to live in pond like conditions. I had my water tested in many stores and all results came back very good even the day before i found 2 of the 4 dead ($10 a piece/ $20 gone) . I never lost a fish I paid that much for die that fast. Furthermore, if I did, the store did something whether it was a refund, exchange, or store credit. This place, “did you look at the back of the receipt?” Which they asked me in the store if I wanted one, so if I didn’t say yes I wouldn’t have had their “policy,” I’m sure of that. I bet not one of their sales people let any potential customers know to their faces; we offer no refunds or store credit for any fish you purchase from this store, before they bag up the fish(es) the customer wanted. I don’t recall seeing a sign in there either. Doesn’t matter, I won’t be going back. The phone call I had had with a store rep was also like a sorry sucker, deal with it, version of customer service. The guy on the phone said things like this doesn’t happen with us, but look at these comments about the same thing happening to them. Never again that’s what I told them before hanging up. I’m expecting these remaining fish to suffer the same fate even though they look and swim around fine and look healthy to me. I’m gonna do everything I can to keep them alive but I’ll never go to this tropical fish store again. I’m looking for more Medaka and I found stores that have them closer to me and the prices were much better. Their customer services is also better which is a plus. I have the confidence in spending my money in a place that are going to stand by their product, unlike theses guys. I’m giving these guys one star because it’s the least I could do. It’s more than they did for me.”

I had bought 4 bronze Corydora catfish from this store yesterday. Did everything correctly, checked the water parameters 3x over 3 days before acclimating and putting them in, also tested this morning- all are at zero & ph is perfect. (i’ve had this tank going for over 4 years now with 6 thriving Bronze Corydoras already inside) After the first night (not even 24 hours after i got them) 2/4 of the new ones were dead. After calling the store, they offered to allow me to return them but only after I payed for them to test my water conditions using their "special $1,900 water testing machine..." It’s unfair they sold me dying fish at the store then refuse to replace them without charging me for a water test. (i offered to bring my own tests so I wouldn’t be charged but they refused). Seems like the strategy is to sell you the most sickly ones they have so they can get rid of them, then blaming your water parameters when it dies and hoping people will not want to pay for their testing. Petco will literally always do water tests for free no questions asked, for any reason, you don’t even have to have a dead fish. I had to unfortunately do a chargeback as i’m not paying for the dead and sickly fish, especially when the other two fish are completely fine in the tank. i would’ve happily paid for the other two healthy fish too had they agreed to facilitate a return. Suuuuper disappointed in this transaction since this place seemed to be one of the coolest places for fish on the island, but sadly it didn’t matter.”

Follow up review: I bought my first fish from them and it was my favorite powder blue tang. I’ve always wanted this tang. When I saw it at the store, it looked very clean and spotless. I shared my concerns about purchasing sick fish and they told me that they treat their tanks as much as possible to make sure that they get sold at clean condition. So far, it’s doing so well and I’m very happy with my purchase with them. Highly recommend them. Thank you John and Jason!”

Well they did have what I wanted, tank were well maintained, but I waited over 30mins and the only person servicing customers was busy with someone that had been there prior to me coming in. Another customer walked in then walked in another employee that helped that customer, that he seemed to know, and then left. If this is how business is done here I can't see this place lasting much longer. Gave it 2 stars because they had what I wanted, tanks were clean and I have been there before.”
