Tucked away in Paterson, New Jersey, Jersey Corals has built a devoted following among reef keepers across the tristate area and beyond — largely through their signature online coral auctions. Owner Anthony runs a tight operation that specializes in high-end saltwater livestock, with a particular emphasis on euphyllia colonies that draw collectors from all over. Torches, hammers, and octospawn dominate the display tanks alongside an impressive spread of SPS like millepora and tenuis, LPS, mushrooms, goniopora, and meat corals.
The fish selection punches well above what you'd expect. Reviewers rave about aquacultured yellow tangs, gem tangs, koi tangs, the elusive yurple tang, Cuban basslets, wild anthias, and captive-bred angelfish. Anthony's commitment to aquaculture and captive-bred species means livestock tends to arrive acclimated, eating, and disease-free — a claim backed by dozens of repeat buyers who report healthy arrivals and thriving additions to their reef systems.
The auction model is central to Jersey Corals' identity. Auctions run consistently, pricing tends to undercut comparable online reef shops, and the competitive format keeps things exciting. Multiple reviewers describe starting with a single bid and finding themselves thousands of dollars deep months later.
Communication throughout the purchasing process earns near-universal praise — Anthony responds quickly, coordinates pickup and shipping logistics, and has even personally delivered replacement fish to a customer's home when an issue arose. The physical store recently underwent a major renovation, and walk-in visitors find a clean, well-organized space with healthy, vibrant livestock on display. Anthony's knowledge of reef systems makes him a genuine resource, especially for newer hobbyists navigating the complexities of saltwater setups.
He takes the time to match livestock to individual tanks and answer questions with patience. For reef enthusiasts in New Jersey and along the East Coast looking for quality corals, rare fish, and an owner who genuinely cares about the hobby, Jersey Corals delivers — literally and figuratively.

Reviewing from the website auctions here for reference: Great prices in the auctions, and they have them very consistently, which a lot of other sites struggle with. However, I have ordered two separate maxima clams from this company, and both came covered in aiptaisa anemones. So I don't recommend buying any clams from them unless you have a dedicated coral quarantine. I'm really disappointed this happened because I shopped with them for months, but alas. Hopefully they throw some nudibranchs up for auction to help with their aiptasia.

Tried bidding on one of their coral auctions one time to see what it was like … plus I wanted to up my reef tank’s game, I never thought I’d actually win any auctions but gave it a shot non the less. Well, that was like 9727 auctions ago because their coral is je ne sais quoi, kick ass. Excellent service, excellent staff, awesome coral, owner goes above and beyond! You can’t do better the JC. Only thing is, it may be terrible for your bank account (I’m laughing as I write this sentence haha (see)). But seriously, their coral is top notch that once see how good their coral quality is, you won’t want to go anywhere else. Much love guys! 🤙🏻✌🏻

Anthony is very knowledgeable and friendly. I’m new to this and I am keeping my son’s memory alive & honoring him by maintaining & growing his saltwater system. I’m learning on the fly and have many questions and Anthony is always patient to help answer any questions I have. The store just had a major renovation and I highly recommend Jersey Corals.

I am truly very happy with this store. I had a problem with a fish for which there was always communication and they took the time to come to my house to exchange the fish for another one with which I am happy. Thank you very much, Jersey Corals, for your attention and commitment to your customers.

I bought a coral online and it arrived completely melted . They refused to refund my money or give me a replacement and stopped responding to my messages.
