About
Blue Reef Aquatics has become a fixture for North Las Vegas, NV fishkeepers, an aquarium store where rows of clean, healthy tanks hold both freshwater and saltwater fish for sale under one roof. Regulars describe a shop that seems to stock "every little aquatic creature you can imagine," from everyday community fish to the rare and unusual species that are hard to track down elsewhere in the Las Vegas valley. If you're hunting loaches, exotic shrimp, or goldfish near me — including shubunkins and albino goldfish pulled from the store's koi pond — this is the kind of place that tends to have it on hand.
The livestock isn't the whole story. Live plants line a good portion of the floor, and staff like Michelle have a reputation for walking new aquarists through each plant, explaining what it does for a tank without pushing a sale. On the equipment side, the shop stocks supplies like water pumps, and longtime team member Donna is regularly thanked by name for steering customers toward the right gear.
Reviewers repeatedly call the tanks some of the cleanest in Vegas and the prices among the best in town, though a few shoppers note entry-level fish can run a little high. What keeps people coming back is the expertise. The team is described again and again as knowledgeable and genuinely passionate, the sort who "SmartSell instead of Hardsell" and take time to answer endless questions — a real help for families new to the hobby.
Service styles vary, and a handful of visitors have found the floor attention a bit close, but the prevailing impression is a welcoming shop that operates with integrity and clearly cares about its fish. For anyone building a freshwater community tank or exploring a saltwater setup on the north end of the valley, Blue Reef Aquatics is a destination worth the drive, with healthy aquatic life available in North Las Vegas, NV and staff happy to help you stock it right.

— ALWAYZ DOPE5.0a month ago“The old lady that works there is rude. Came to look for a tank and see the fish they have. Our baby was ecstatic about the fish. The lady did not smile or greet us. On the other hand the younger guy was welcoming. They have a good selection of fresh water and salt water fish, just a bit expensive for entry level.”

— Jennifer Boling5.04 months ago“I'm not really a fan of them following you around the store,no hello when you walk in or anything,I had to say hello, I had my 2 boys with me looking for a few new additions to our tank ,but it didnt seem like they wanted kids in there,I told my son not to put his fingers in the tank which he didnt, and right after I told him one of the women told him also, then kinda followed us around, its clean in there though and they have nice fish ,but maybe its my tattoos that made them not so welcoming to me 🤷🏼♀️ Edited to add and reply to the extremely unprofessional reply underneath me: I greeted the man at the front desk when I walked in with a hello FIRST and got no words back at all,I've been in customer service for 20 years, I would never leave a reply like that under a review,it seems like you may be the insecure one and know how you may have come off while we were in the store ,and thats why you are defensive and trying to insult me by saying that, either way ,its weird to follow people around , especially if you ask them if they need help and they say "no thank you,we are just looking" this is the first negative review I've ever left on a business before,I usually just never go back, but it was so uncomfortable I had to ,just to let other people know what to expect, and as a business owner you should be thick skinned enough to maybe look at yourself and see if you should change anything,I would imagine you aren't from this city and moved here from somewhere else, because thats the attitude youre giving off. Good luck with your business”
