About
Oceans and Seas has anchored Roseville, Michigan's aquarium scene for decades — long enough that customers who first wandered in as kids now bring their own tanks back for restocking. Walking in, as one regular put it, "is like walking into a dimly lit cave of wonder," with soft blue light glowing from dozens of tanks lining the walls. The stock changes week to week, so part of the fun is never quite knowing what you'll find when you visit.
This is both a freshwater and saltwater shop, which makes it a genuine aquarium store rather than just a fish counter. Reefers come for the coral display tanks people say they could stare at for hours, and the saltwater fish and corals available in Roseville, MI draw drivers from an hour out who rave about the selection and prices. On the freshwater side, the range runs from the common guppy to exotic cichlids — one hobbyist finally tracked down healthy blood parrot cichlids here and keeps four thriving, plus hard-to-find African Dwarf frogs.
Goldfish keepers hunting Orandas, Ryukins, and Hillstream loaches for sale near me have had the same luck, alongside angelfish, live plants, snails, and bettas that customers report arriving home healthy. The vibe is low-key; you can browse undisturbed, then flag someone down when you're ready. Staff names like Katie, Natalie, and Ray come up again and again for patient, honest guidance — especially with new reefers and first-time tank owners.
The shop also carries specialty fish foods and tank supplies that other local stores simply don't stock, often at prices that beat the big-box chains. There's a resident Aussie greeting visitors at the door, and the owner has built goodwill by taking in outgrown fish like Oscars and offering store credit. As with any livestock, it pays to inspect before you buy — but for a deep, personality-driven aquarium store, Oceans and Seas remains a Roseville destination worth the drive.

“The best place for aquarium maintenance and a variety of fish. Please go check it out”
— Kj allday (Gardener Jones)5.0a week ago“Walking in to Oceans and Seas is like walking into a dimly lit cave of wonder. Soft blue light emanates from the dozens of tanks that line the walls and shelves. Each tank is filled with everything from the common guppy to more exotic cichlids and their stock changes from week to week so you're never sure what you'll find. It's a quiet shop. The vibe is low key. You won't be hounded by sales associates as you peruse the tanks, but you will need to seek someone out if you find something you want or have a question. The more brightly lit part of the store contains tons of supplies as well as tanks and stands. Prices are reasonable and for the most part, they beat the prices of big box pet stores. I've bought several fish from here and never had a problem with any of them. It's one of the only places I was able to find the lovely blood parrot cichlid and I have a total of 4 I purchased here, all thriving in my tank. Also was thrilled to find African Dwarf frogs here after checking around everywhere! Definitely worth a visit or 2 or 3!”

All the fish had virus etc 2 weeks later associate called me to inform me a fish was available white and red Oscar to be exact.
