About
Walk into OSA Aquarium Superstores & Services in Seekonk, Massachusetts, and the first thing you'll notice is how immaculate everything is. Reviewers consistently call it the cleanest aquarium store they've ever visited — pristine tanks, zero floaters, and fish that look genuinely healthy and vibrant. It's the kind of place that makes you want a bigger tank just by walking through the door.
The Seekonk location has built its reputation on a strong freshwater selection, and a staff member known as "Freshwater Joe" has become something of a local legend for his deep knowledge and obvious passion. Customers regularly praise the variety of community fish — from rosy barbs recommended for livening up a 20-gallon setup to niche finds you won't stumble across at chain pet stores. Live plants are a significant draw, though quality can be inconsistent, with some visitors noting plants in less-than-ideal condition.
The shrimp selection, including blue velvet shrimp, has attracted dedicated invertebrate keepers, and mystery snails round out the freshwater invertebrate offerings. OSA has recently expanded into marine territory, adding saltwater fish and corals to their lineup — a move that loyal freshwater customers are watching with excitement. The store also offers services including tank restoration and setup assistance; one grateful customer credits Kyle and the OSA team with saving an aquarium they were ready to give away, transforming it in a single hour.
Pricing is the most common point of contention. Multiple reviewers acknowledge that costs run higher than competitors, though most conclude the premium reflects the quality of the livestock. The store's betta care has drawn mixed reactions — some love the selection, while dedicated betta keepers have raised concerns about housing conditions and fish health.
With beautiful display tanks that double as inspiration, knowledgeable (if sometimes firm) staff who care deeply about proper fishkeeping, and a growing inventory that now spans freshwater and saltwater, OSA Seekonk rewards the visit — especially if you value healthy livestock and a spotless shopping experience.

Customer reviews
“Been going to OSA for a few years now. Always a good selection of fish. But this time I decided I’d buy a basic staple of the aquarium industry “ thermometer “ you didn’t have thermometers, really , the most basic instrument of fishkeeping and you failed. GOOD TALK!! So basic yet so far away!!”
— T S (T the enchanter)3.08 months ago“Excellent variety of fish! Very healthy and good quality! Very friendly service! The young lady that helped me was very knowledgeable and polite! I did enjoyed my visit a lot! Although the quality of the aquarium fish is top-notch the prices are a little higher than other places. But be rest assured you pay for what you're getting and that is healthy and beautiful stock fish!”
— Samuel Seda5.08 months ago“From start to finish, a great experience. Place is so clean! Large selection of fish, snails and shrimp. Beautiful fish and tanks. Zero dead fish and everything looked healthy. And, the staff was great. Unfortunately I didn’t get names but they were all helpful and had answers for all my dumb questions!”

— Jennifer Saipher3.011 months ago“I went there to the Seekonk store with specific issues in my 20 gallon community tank,I was about to buy the wrong fish looking for a hardy school of fish to kinda wake up the tank. Sale person directed me to the rosey barb a perfect fit and within 3 hours the tank was brought back to life. I would highly recommend to everyone.”

— Dan Crawford5.0a year ago“Made a trip out to the Seekonk location as this store has such great reviews. First of all, 95% of their aquatic plants were melting and not worth purchasing. I was sad to see how they specifically treat their bettas. Many of them had fin rot and dropsy and were kept in such dirty conditions. Tanks were all algea and duckweed with very little actual planted tanks. They had a few tanks with multiple bettas in them that were clearly showing signs of stress and aggression. Yes, betta sororities are a thing with females, but are very hard to accomplish even in established heavily planted tanks. As a huge betta lover I was very disappointed in this shop.”
