About
Tucked into Feeding Hills, Aqua Dreams is the kind of independent aquarium store that reef keepers across western Massachusetts plan their weekends around. Owner Chris runs the shop himself, and the saltwater side is clearly the heart of it: a deep, constantly rotating selection of corals — frags and colonies alike — alongside saltwater fish, anemones, urchins, hermit crabs, live rock, and shrimp. Regulars say new livestock lands almost every week, which is why one reviewer happily drives an hour and a half just to see what's in stock.
If you're hunting for healthy corals or saltwater fish for sale in Feeding Hills, MA, this is the room to walk into. Freshwater hobbyists aren't an afterthought. The shop stocks bettas, plecos, nerite and mystery snails, and good-looking live aquatic plants, plus the fish food and supplies to keep a tank running.
One longtime customer still has freshwater fish she bought here eight years ago, and a newer reviewer just getting into the hobby credited Chris with helping him right-size his first aquarium and pick compatible fish and plants. What sets the store apart is that depth of knowledge and the patience behind it. Chris will test your water, walk you through conditioning for specific species, troubleshoot a stubborn balance issue, and talk you out of livestock your setup can't yet support — several reviewers note he won't sell an animal unless it's healthy and ready to go.
The space itself is compact but spotless, with clean tanks and visibly well-cared-for animals throughout, and pricing that holds up against bigger stores in the area. A rewards program and regular sales — sign up for the text alerts to catch events like the Memorial Day sale — keep loyal customers coming back. Between the meticulous tanks, the honest advice, and the genuine enthusiasm Chris brings to every conversation, a stop into this Feeding Hills aquarium store feels more like talking shop with a fellow hobbyist than browsing a retail counter.

“Large variety of coral and saltwater fish to choose from. Very clean store and the fish tanks are meticulously maintained. Highly recommend for all your saltwater needs!”
— Shelly Gore5.02 weeks ago“I've had nothing but great experiences at Aqua Dreams. The owner is incredibly knowledgeable, respectful, and genuinely invested in making sure his customers succeed. He takes the time to understand what you're trying to accomplish instead of just selling you something. As someone getting into the hobby, he helped me right-size my aquarium, recommended compatible fish and plants, and explained everything in a way that was easy to understand. You can tell he wants people to enjoy the hobby and avoid costly mistakes. The store itself may not be huge, but it's packed with quality livestock, plants, equipment, and just about anything you'd need. The prices are competitive, and even if they weren't, I'd still choose to shop here because the service and expertise are worth it. It's refreshing to find a local business where the owner is this passionate, patient, and supportive. I highly recommend Aqua Dreams to both beginners and experienced aquarium enthusiasts alike.”

Also has a phenomenal selection of frags, live rock, fish food. I happily drive 1 1/2+ hrs just to see what he has in stock. All time favorite fish store.”

— nyeisha f5.04 weeks ago“Walked in the store, said good afternoon multiple times and was not even acknowledged until I was walking out 5 minutes later. Not sure of the greatness everyone sees, but I was extremely disappointed. Not a professional treatment at all!”

— Tony S U A R E S5.04 months ago“Aqua Dreams is my favorite aquarium store. They have the most vibrant healthy sea life. From the anemones, corals, urchin, to the fish, and shrimp. They are the best around. The gentleman working there every time I’ve gone in is easy to talk to, but not always easy to understand, only because he knows so much more about aquariums than anyone I’ve ever talk to. Everything from starting out, conditioning for certain species, or fixing and maintaining balance in water conditions. Two thumbs up and five stars for Aqua Dreams. I am now on my second set up for a saltwater aquarium. Wouldn’t go anywhere else for products, pets, or advice. I haven’t requested any special orders but over heard the man working there say to a customer he could get them what they are looking for if they had the set up for what they wanted.”
— Eric Connolly5.02 weeks ago“When I came in it seemed like I was bothering the person at the counter. I was interrupted before I even finished asking my question.”
