Fish Bowl & More in Griffin, Georgia is a small pet shop that has experienced significant ups and downs, and reviews reflect a store in the middle of a transition. Under newer management and with staff additions like an employee named Zoey — who multiple visitors credit with improving the store's appearance — the shop has shown signs of a turnaround after a period where customers frequently reported empty tanks, dirty conditions, and absent staff. At its best, Fish Bowl & More stocks a variety of tropical freshwater fish, reptiles, and even a large parrot that visitors find memorable.
One regular customer over eight months noted consistently clean tanks, healthy fish, and even spotted fry growing in several aquariums — a sign of fish being well-kept enough to breed. That same visitor praised the store's pricing on live plants and mosses, as well as deals on used tanks and equipment, calling it a solid spot for affordable freshwater supplies in the Griffin area. However, the store's track record is uneven.
A significant number of reviewers have arrived to find the shop closed during posted hours, sometimes after driving 45 minutes or more. Others have described periods where inventory was virtually nonexistent — rows of empty cages and bare tanks. Some visitors have raised serious animal welfare concerns about the reptile section, citing underweight animals and unsanitary enclosures.
Customer service has also been inconsistent, with multiple reviews describing staff who were inattentive or didn't acknowledge shoppers at all. The honest picture is a store that appears to be rebuilding. Those who have visited during good stretches report a clean, welcoming shop with knowledgeable staff and fair prices, particularly on freshwater plants and secondhand equipment.
But timing matters — calling ahead to confirm hours and check on current stock is strongly recommended before making the drive to Griffin.

This is quite possibly one of the biggest wastes of time I've ever been in. It is quite literally entirely empty— of everything. Fish, reptiles, birds. Don't bother going in, find somewhere else.

Rows upon rows of empty cages, no inventory and staff that's a little inattentive. It was not worth the hour drive it took to get here

DO NOT BUY ANIMALS FROM THIS STORE! ADENOVIRUS POSSIBLY PRESENT! Went to browse the reptile section - which is very bare-bones and does not have any proper lighting or decor options available - and saw one of the ball pythons, which looked underweight, stargazing. Stargazing is one of the major signs of many neurological diseases, including adenovirus, which is an incurable virus that is essentially a death sentence... and it is INCREDIBLY contagious. As soon as I got home, I had to remove and wash all of the clothing I was wearing and shower because I have my own reptiles at home. Aside from that, none of the animals looked healthy. All of the reptiles are underweight and are in dirty, unsuitable habitats. Every single fish tank is covered in bubble algae. Every tank for sale is dirty. This store has managed to be worse than all of the major pet store chains when it comes to animal welfare and cleanliness, which I have to commend it for. The owners should be ashamed of themselves. I would not take anything from this store, even for free.

The worst fish store I’ve ever been to. Every fish tank was disgusting. I maybe seen one fish.

The shop seems to have done a pretty good turnaround. The tanks are usually really clean for the several times that I’ve been in there in the past eight months or so, the fish are well kept & fed. Not starving for food & attention. Also, I never see any dying fish. I actually noticed a lot of little fry and things and tanks that supposedly are not supposed to have any fish at all, which is cool. I’d rather see life, than death. Staff is really knowledgeable. Sometimes you have to start asking for them to open up, but everybody’s different. They’re really good at prices, especially on their plants & mosses!! I’ve noticed a lot of prices seem to have changed from what is in the reviews. I go here for several different things not just for the tanks, but also supplies and things like that. Their prices on used tanks and used equipment is really good as well. I would recommend this place, but it also depends on what you’re going for. I didn’t know that they have been in the Griffin area until this past February and since then I’ve been making regular visits. I will say I tend to go on days that they’re waiting days for their next shipments, but overall 4 out of five. One of these days I’ll make it up there right after they’ve just gotten a shipment and I will update this review.

Dr. Bryant is truly one of the best dermatologists I’ve ever been to. From the very first appointment, he made me feel heard, respected, and comfortable. He takes the time to explain everything clearly and always answers my questions with patience and care. Not only is he incredibly knowledgeable, but he genuinely cares about his patients and their results. The treatment plan he created for me was effective, and I started seeing improvements sooner than I expected.

Amazing! It’s under new management and they are amazing and kind! Very clean and professional. They have all kinds of fish and different reptiles. There is also a very cool parrot that is very big. 10 out of 10 definitely would come again.
