About

Reefs Edge Aquatics sits in Pompano Beach, FL, and over just a few years it has become the home base for South Florida's saltwater reefing community. 9-star average across 172 reviews, this is an aquarium store run by people who are genuinely obsessed with the ocean, and that obsession shows the moment you walk in. Tanks are spotless, the livestock looks vibrant and healthy, and the coral selection runs deep, with WYSIWYG frags that customers describe at fair prices, often lower than the other shops in the area.

The reef side is the heart of the place. Saltwater fish and corals for sale in Pompano Beach, FL fill pristine display tanks, and longtime hobbyists mention bringing home unusual finds like a Fiji bicolor Foxface, a Freckled Hawkfish, clownfish, and cleanup-crew snails, all healthy, good-sized, and reasonably priced. But Reefs Edge isn't only for reefers.

Plenty of customers start here with a first freshwater tank and plants before working their way up to saltwater, and the staff meet beginners exactly where they are. What people keep coming back for is the team. Cody, the owner, gets named again and again as patient, knowledgeable, and never pushy; Walter is called one of the most experienced reefers around; and Haley earns praise for walking newcomers through their very first setups without rushing them.

" Beyond livestock, the shop stocks the same high-quality equipment and brands serious hobbyists trust, including Red Sea systems, with the bonus of in-person guidance you can't get from a screen. The crew also handles full tank setups, upgrades, and livestock moves; one customer had a new Red Sea Reefer G3 425 installed and the old 350 broken down in a single day. Many reviewers admit they stop in just to browse, learn, and soak up the calm.

For a local reef and aquarium store in Pompano Beach, FL, this is the one to find.

Customer reviews

  • “If you’re considering getting into the aquarium hobby, read this review. I highly recommend starting your journey with Reef’s Edge. I visited several places before deciding where to buy, and Reef’s Edge was the first shop that made the hobby feel approachable rather than intimidating. No matter how many questions I had—or how silly I thought they were—the team always took the time to answer them without making me feel rushed or pressured or as a bother. My aquarium journey started over a year ago with a freshwater setup. Haley was incredibly kind, patient, and helpful in guiding me through those first steps. She made the learning process enjoyable and never pushed into making purchases before I was ready but made sure I saw all options. My ultimate goal, however, was always a saltwater reef tank. After spending the last year learning and gaining confidence, I finally felt ready to take on the challenge and ordered a NICE Red Sea system from Reef’s Edge. Today was installation day, and it was everything I hoped for. The installation team was friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and generous with sharing advice and tips for a newcomer to saltwater aquariums. They set up a clean workspace, treated my home with respect, and left everything spotless when they finished. They also took the time to walk me through all of the equipment, technology, and app controls, making sure I understood how everything worked before they left. I’ll be honest—there was a hiccup during the ordering process. But what stood out wasn’t the problem itself; it was how Reef’s Edge handled it. Their communication, willingness to make things right, and the professionalism of the installation team showed me exactly why customer service matters. It’s easy to provide great service when everything goes perfectly. It’s how a company responds when things don’t go perfectly that truly defines them. That experience gave me confidence that this won’t be a one-time purchase, but rather the beginning of a long-standing relationship with Reef’s Edge. Whether you’re looking to start your first freshwater tank or take the leap into saltwater, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.”

  • “Cody and the team at reefs edge are the absolute best. Look nor further for all your reefing needs! They set up our new G3 425 and broke down the old 350 in the same day. Cody even painted the wall behind our tank when we moved the old one out! These guys are so great and we’re super lucky to have them in south Florida! Thanks reefs edge!!”

  • “Had a great experience with Cody at Reefs Edge getting my old tank upgraded and replaced. The whole team was great - super helpful, knowledgeable, and created a welcoming environment to be around while everything was getting sorted out. They made a stressful situation involving moving livestock much easier and everything went far smoother than expected. You can tell they actually care about what they’re doing and the people they’re helping. Definitely recommend if you’re in the hobby and need solid help or advice!”

  • “I had a really frustrating experience at this local fish store. I originally called ahead to ask about a specific product, and they confirmed they had it in stock, which is what got me through the door. Once I walked in, I was honestly impressed. The store looked great, the selection was solid, and I quickly forgot about the one item I came for because I started finding everything else I needed. I was easily ready to spend over $200 without hesitation. At first, a gentleman was helping me out, but instead of really assisting, he pretty quickly passed me off to another employee. It felt like I was just being shuffled around instead of actually helped, which wasn’t a great start. The employee who ended up helping me was very nice and did take the time to gather everything I needed. Honestly, I felt bad for her because she spent time helping me put everything together, only for it to end up being a complete waste due to something that should have been communicated upfront. Everything seemed fine until I got to checkout and was told they don’t accept cash. There was no clear notice of this anywhere, no mention when I called ahead, and nothing said while I was being helped. If I had known upfront, I would have come prepared or chosen to shop somewhere else. Instead, after spending time in the store and getting everything together, I had to walk out and leave it all behind. That’s a lost sale of over $200, and it could have been completely avoided with better communication. Between being passed off between employees and the lack of transparency about payment methods, the whole experience ended up being really disappointing. The store itself has a lot of potential and a great selection, but basic customer service and clear policies go a long way. Hopefully they fix these issues, because right now they’re losing business over things that are easily preventable.”

  • “Jumped back into the hobby after 4 years, was so incredibly impressed with the store. All the tanks and livestock are in pristine condition, they’re stocked with really high quality products (all the brands and products I’m used to using and would choose from an online retailer), and the lady working the store was incredibly kind and helpful. I’ll definitely be a repeat customer - highly recommend”
