Aquarium Art in Palmetto Bay, Florida is one of those stores that immediately resets your expectations. Multiple reviewers note the same thing: it smells clean. That's not a small detail in this hobby — it speaks to the meticulous tank maintenance and overall care that owner Rick and his team put into every display.
Tanks are described as impeccable and thriving, a living portfolio of what they can help customers achieve at home. The store stocks a solid selection of both freshwater and saltwater fish, with a focus on community species alongside corals, live plants, shrimp, and accessories. Whether you're building a planted freshwater setup or sourcing corals for a reef tank, the inventory stays varied and competitively priced.
One customer noted receiving fish and shrimp that arrived in perfect health and well-packed, suggesting the store ships livestock with real care. What truly distinguishes Aquarium Art is the caliber of its people. Staff members like Hazel, Jorge, Ashley, and Kevin are called out by name repeatedly.
Hazel earned particular praise for patiently walking a first-time fishkeeper and his young son through everything they needed — from tank selection to fish compatibility. Kevin runs an aquarium maintenance service that includes full rockwork redesigns, and reviewers describe him as someone who treats clients' tanks with genuine pride. Rick, described as super cool with tons of experience, anchors the operation with deep knowledge and approachability.
The store occupies a relatively new spot in the Palmetto Bay neighborhood, but it's already built a loyal following. The combination of clean facilities, fair pricing, knowledgeable staff, and a thoughtfully curated mix of freshwater and saltwater livestock makes it easy to see why. For South Florida aquarists tired of driving across town, Aquarium Art delivers a complete experience — live fish, corals, plants, equipment, education, and ongoing tank maintenance — all under one roof.

I recently started using Kevin’s aquarium service, and I couldn’t be happier. Kevin is a true professional—knowledgeable, reliable, and clearly passionate about what he does. He completely refreshed my tank, including redoing the rock work, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was looking its absolute best. His attention to detail and genuine care really set him apart. If you’re looking for someone who treats your aquarium with the same pride and dedication as you would, Kevin is the one to call. Highly recommend!

Always go to them for my fish and corals, always a good selection of both and for a good price. Combined with great staff and a clean store, one of the best fish stores I’ve come to.

Hazel was absolutely amazing. We got my son a fish tank for his room and she was sooo informative. She made sure we were ready and had all the fish we wanted. She educated us on everything we needed. She was extremely patient and kind to my son and myself. This is the place you go to if you want to get started or if you’re already experienced! They are absolutely amazing.
