About
Tropical Treasures Wyo LLC has become Cheyenne's go-to freshwater fish store, the enthusiast-run shop southeastern Wyoming had long been missing. Owners Jerry and Daphne built it for hobbyists, and regulars say it shows in every tank. Reviewers consistently call out the health of the livestock — "I challenge you to find any live stock not swimming," one customer wrote, contrasting it with the floating fish at big-box pet stores.
The selection is the talk of the region. You'll find a wide, ever-changing variety of freshwater fish for sale in Cheyenne, WY, from vibrant bettas and tinfoil barbs to Colombian plecos, killifish, and snails and other invertebrates. Live plants are a genuine specialty — many shoppers call it the largest selection of aquatic plants they've seen anywhere — making this a natural home for planted-tank keepers searching for live aquarium plants near me.
There's even an aquascaping table where you can build your hardscape and decor exactly the way you want it. Jerry and Daphne are the reason people drive in from over an hour away. Daphne is known for sitting down with newcomers; one couple new to the hobby said she spent over an hour helping them choose plants and answer questions.
First-tank shoppers mention leaving comfortable and confident, and folks getting back into the hobby say the couple patiently walked them through everything. If they don't have what you're after, they'll work to bring it in. The shop is clean, well-organized, and stocked with everything from lights and filtration to food, decor, and dry goods.
As an authorized Aquarium Co-op retailer, they keep those coveted products on the shelf right here in Cheyenne, so you can walk out with them the same day. Prices are repeatedly called reasonable, and a military discount adds a welcome touch in this military-connected community. — Anita Bias5.0a month ago“I had high hopes for this business. When it opened, the water was cloudy in all of the tanks. Nearly a year later they look worse. I was in this evening for less than 2 minutes. All the tanks in the front looked like the water had been siphened out of a storm sewer. I could not see fish or plants through the detritis floating in them. My pictures are of my own tank. 150 gallons of african cichlids. 2 fluval Fx4s and a wave maker keep this tank spotless. I change water 2x a month with filtered water, no ro water, no chemicals, and I have never had cloudy water. I would be concerned to put anything from this store into my tank. I will make sure I get some time to stop by in the near future and take photos of every cloudy tank as the owner wishes and post them here. I did spend $300 on fish and plants when this place opened, so that certainly does make me a customer.”

They have the best selection of fish, plants, tank decor and accessories you'll find in the entire state! I've purchased several fish from them all of which were very healthy at the time of purchase and are still doing great several months later. I love going in just because they always have something new and exciting to see that I've never seen before.”
— Tammy Bourne5.02 months ago“Quality products! Great fish selection! Super friendly and knowledge staff.
