Walking into Fish Gallery in Dallas feels less like entering a pet store and more like stepping into an aquarium exhibition. The showroom is bright, meticulously organized, and anchored by a jaw-dropping 2,000-gallon community tank in the lounge area that customers are welcome to admire even without buying a thing. The tank designs throughout the store are consistently described as phenomenal — natural aquascapes built with real driftwood and live plants rather than plastic decorations, reflecting a philosophy that clearly prioritizes authenticity over kitsch.
The freshwater selection draws the most praise, with a rotating variety that includes Ember Tetras, mystery snails, bettas, and species that one Georgia-based visitor said they'd never encountered in stores back home. Live plants and corals round out the livestock inventory, though reviewers note the plant selection can be inconsistent and the saltwater coral side runs thinner than the freshwater offerings. Dry goods — fish food, filters, cleaning supplies, and hardscape materials — fill out the retail floor, though some shoppers wish for a deeper rock and driftwood selection comparable to the North Dallas location.
What sets Fish Gallery apart from big-box competitors is the full-service installation operation. A team including staffers Edson, Angel, and David handles delivery and setup of large systems — one customer had a 300-gallon aquarium delivered and a sump installed on a 210-gallon system, complete with post-install education on maintenance. Staff members like Milan, Zac, and Jesse earn repeated shoutouts for their patience in walking newcomers through their first setups, from snail care to community tank stocking.
The store isn't without rough edges. A few reviewers have encountered empty or understocked tanks, and at least one customer waited over a year for a promised Mandarin Goby replacement from a display saltwater setup purchase. Occasional lapses in floor attention have also been noted.
5 stars, Fish Gallery has clearly established itself as Dallas's premier dedicated aquarium retailer — a place where the livestock is healthy, the designs inspire, and the expertise runs deep.

Staff is super friendly, welcoming and helpful. I'm a teacher and bought a couple mystery snails. They gave me a snail egg clutch for my class to try and hatch!

Milan has been the best help in educating us for our new wet pets set up, sharing our enthusiasm and guiding us along the way. The store is quite enjoyable, organized, clean and brightly lit which makes for a great browsing and shopping experience.

Not a lot of variety for freshwater fish this time, so that was a bummer; although they did say they were expecting more soon.. either way, the tanks here are in near pristine condition.. water is very clean and clear. I wish they had the fish i wanted because they seem to be taking good care of the fish

This is by far the best Dallas Fish store I’ve been to. High-quality fish tanks, customer service is the BOMB!!! Workers are hardworking, and the community is well-suited for fish keepers. 100% recommen this place for fish keepers to come by and check out what they have in stock. You won't believe what they have!!

This is a great local fish store to visit! They have a good variety of freshwater and saltwater fish and corals. Along with a very nice variety of freshwater plants. Their tank designs are PHENOMENAL. They definitely know how to aquascape like a pro. From seeing their store, I can only imagine how well they do with custom setups at homes or businesses. They supply a great variety of fish foods, cleaning supplies, filters, etc. they don’t have too many little structures for fish decorations but you can tell they definitely prioritize building natural tanks which I can appreciate. Going here just to look is fun though, as their fish tanks and store setup are so cool! Their fish are beautiful, healthy, and very lively. Way better quality than Petco or Petsmart. I’ve gotten a bunch of fish and plants from here and they’ve been amazingly healthy and active. Their prices are also very fair. The workers are also kind and knowledgeable. They’ve been able to answer every question I have along with helping me select the best fish to help with algae cleanup for my community tank and plants that my beta would enjoy (which I also got from here). I love supporting local businesses and I would say if you’re nearby, definitely utilize this store! They’re my go to for everything fish :)

One of the best freshwater fish stores in the area although their saltwater fish/coral selection is lacking.

Zac was the best, it was my first visit today. After my experience I will make the 30min drive from the colony, no more pet stores. Great customer service, was patient with all my questions. I found my go to fish store
