About

Walk into 360 Aquatic in northwest Houston and the first thing you notice is what's missing: that fishy smell. The tanks are spotless, the water runs crystal clear, and the livestock practically glows. Owner Dan and his crew recently moved from their tight Britmoore shop to a sprawling new location, and the extra room shows in the wide aisles, display aquascapes, and the sand trays in back where you can test how driftwood and stone will sit in your tank before you buy.

This is a freshwater fish store through and through. The betta wall and sorority tanks are some of the best many hobbyists say they've ever seen, and the floor runs deep with discus, Electric Blue Rams, plecos, cichlids, rummy nose and Congo tetras, nano fish, shrimp, and snails. One regular drove from New Orleans just to pick up Leopard Angels.

If you're hunting for healthy discus or rare freshwater fish for sale in Houston, TX, this is the room people cross the metro for. The live plant section is a destination of its own: a full wall of aquatics plus tissue culture cups, CO2 gear, and aisle after aisle of driftwood, rocks, and hardscape for aquascaping. They carry Seachem and Aquarium Co-Op, fresh blackworms, and live and frozen foods, and they even run aquascaping classes, including one led by Luis, a Seachem expert.

What sets the store apart is the care behind the scenes. Every fish is quarantined before it hits the sales floor, with quarantine tanks clearly marked, so customers report years of healthy, thriving fish and no ich. Staff like Christy, Shay, and Luke are genuinely invested, walking you through compatibility, tank sizing, and stocking without pushing a sale.

It draws crowds from Conroe, Lake Charles, and hours away for good reason. For freshwater fishkeeping and aquascaping near me in Houston, 360 Aquatic has set the local standard.

Absolutely huge selection of plants, fish, wood, tanks, live/frozen food, dry goods/equipment, etc.. they have everything and it’s extremely organized and clean! Although on the pricier side you get the quality you should want as a fish keeper! Shay was extremely helpful! Definitely worth the hour trip, will be back!!!”

  • “You know a store is good when you are referred to it by someone in the same industry! This place did not disappoint at all! They have you covered from bottom to top and everything in between. This is the first time I’ve been to a store that had an entire section devoted exclusively to aquatic plants! It is beautiful! We thought we were only going to pop in and check it out, but everyone was so friendly and knowledgeable (shout out to the lady who helped us named Christy). You guys are the best and we will absolutely be visiting you again soon. I thought we had everything we needed and we were just checking out a new place to go…but the aquarium set ups they had were so beautiful and inspiring that we are looking forward to upgrading our tanks now. My son has taken on aquatics as a hobby, but he struggles with social anxiety, Christy you were so patient and helpful answering all his concerns and questions. You really made our visit to 360 a great experience. We will look for you next time we make it by. Thank you all so much your store is an entire experience and we loved every minute of it!”

  • “⭐❌❌❌❌⚠️ Edit in response to owner. Dan says, "Wow. This is a fake review . Attempting to hurt our image. Very sad.": Not a smart move, Dan. There are so many ways to know this isn't a fake review and being that way in your response doesn't make you look any better. It makes you look far worse actually. Could have aimed for improvement but instead chose to be petty to a returning patron. Real good job there. Due to Dan's (the Owner) *IMPECCABLE* customer service, my generous 3 stars will drop for the first time in 2 years. You thought 3 stars was meant to hurt you? Really??? You're the sad one, dude. Genuinely. Have 1 star if 3 is too much for you to handle properly, like when you bag fish. I will go to Fish Gallery from now on. Someone should tell Fritz how you handle business. You don't deserve that sponsorship. You will never see more than 1 star from me again at least until you find a new owner who can do customer service. A shame. Learn to gently bag fish. Bye. (Past reviews for this business are posted below. Loved the store. Not Dan the Owner. He apparently hates honesty.) 06/2026 ⭐⭐⭐❌❌: Let me start by saying the new location is quite the update. It offers room to move without us bring packed in like sardines and there are much more selection options in everything from fish and food to hardscape and plants. I will note that their prices have increased significantly. Now they're more akin to Fish Gallery in premium prices. Not ideal for many folks especially during this economy. Additionally, for being a new location, a lot of fish we not doing well. Many tanks were under quarantine. On that note, Dan successfully ruined the employee we liked. He was once gentle around the fish but now doesn't even flinch about slamming himself or other items against the racks and scaring all of the fish. He probably bags exactly like Dan now, basically shaking the fish before selling it to you. Didn't want to wait and see. Other than having the same issues as the previous location, it was nice to see the place expand. (Previous location but still applies to new location 👇:) 11/2024 ⭐⭐⭐❌❌: Asked about where they source their fish and got an answer I've never heard before and quite frankly raised a few red flags: "it's a secret." You really do find new ways to make me wary of you, Dan. I've never not been able to find out sources and this is the only place that won't tell. Considering the amount of unsavory things that go on in this hobby, I honestly try to avoid the owner now. And he kinda ruined the new guy I mentioned before. He caught and bagged my fish so gently when I first interacted with him, now he bags a bit like Dan. Be careful with the live creatures especially in front of the person buying them. I shouldn't need to worry on the drive home whether my shaken fish is gonna be okay. 🫨😵‍💫 ⭐⭐⭐❌❌ Tried to check their site and my phone blocked it for being unsafe. The amount of flags... They grow. 👀🚩🚩🚩 *** 01/2024: Amazing store with outstanding selection but some staff are hit or miss. For example, Dan's in person customer service is very disengaged and he acts very haphazardly when catching/bagging the fish. On the other hand, we met a new staff member today that was super friendly and gentle with our selection. Sadly we didn't get this guy's name (tall with light brown curly hair and mustache) but he seemed super passionate and like he cared about each and every fish. That's a refreshing kind of engagement and I hope he stays ☺️ Edit: Asked Dan if he would be getting any blackline rasboras. I kid you not, he said they were "too black" for him to consider ordering lmao 🤣 I don't think he knew what he was talking about because I asked in conjunction with brilliant rasboras (the same fish just different name) and he said he tried to get some in but it was too difficult. I can understand that. But dude I just nodded because I had no idea how to reply to that since he's the owner. I'm not sure what was misinterpreted but it was too funny but also wow ⭐⭐⭐⭐❌”

  • “Great first experience. Staff was helpful and the store is full of all the stuff you need to support your freshwater needs. I was very impressed with all the different supplies, tanks and hardware available. I picked up some rummy nose tetra during my visit and they are very healthy. They aclimitized fast and easy and are already doing great. We'll be back soon.”
