About
Clarksville Reef & Reptiles is one of the few dedicated aquarium stores in Clarksville, TN, pairing a saltwater and freshwater fish department with a full reptile shop under a single roof. For local hobbyists who would rather support an independent shop than a big-box chain, it's a longtime fixture — and walking in, you'll find tanks of freshwater community fish, saltwater livestock, and live coral alongside snakes, bearded dragons, and feeder animals. The saltwater side is the store's signature.
Reef keepers come for live coral, marine fish, and anemones for sale in Clarksville, TN — one recent visitor noted the anemones were some of the healthiest, most active she'd seen in any store. A massive 500-gallon saltwater display anchors the floor and gives newer aquarists something to aspire to. On the freshwater side there's a rotating mix of community fish and aquatic plants, plus tanks, supplies, and fish food available in Clarksville, TN.
Staff are the consistent high point. Andrew, who runs the shop, has built years of loyalty by special-ordering fish for regulars — "he's ordered me anything I wanted for years," one customer wrote — and the team services customer tanks on a biweekly schedule for hobbyists who want a great-looking setup with less upkeep. On the reptile side, Zoey and Karina earn repeat praise for patient, hands-on education, from removing stuck shed to letting curious kids meet a banana python.
The shop also fills RO water buckets and keeps a cart on hand to help you wheel them to your car. Reviews are candid: some visitors have flagged tank cleanliness and selection as things they'd like to see improved. Still, for in-person reef and freshwater shopping backed by genuinely knowledgeable staff, Clarksville Reef & Reptiles remains a go-to local fish store for the Clarksville aquarium community.

“I didn’t buy anything but wanted to give 5 stars for Karina. My child wanted to just look at some of the fish and snakes, and we never felt pressured to buy anything or rushed. Karina even shared some snake education with us and let us pet a beautiful banana python which absolutely made my child’s day. Thank you for a great experience! When it’s a right time for us to add another forever pet we’d love to come back. The anemones were really cool too, I’d never seen such healthy/active ones in a store before”

They have a large variety of freshwater fish, saltwater fish, reptiles, and amphibians for sale. They sell pet supplies for these particular animals.”

I’ve recently set up a new saltwater tank and have been telling this store I will spend all sorts of money on livestock if they ever get anything in. They have zero stock, tanks are disgusting, and corals look dead and dirty. I told them about 3 weeks ago I wanted a pair of Clowns first and three weeks go by and nothing, was told the owner doesn’t order for people. I like supporting small businesses but this place will refuse to take your money.”
— MV1.03 weeks ago“We drove over a hour to come check this place out after seeing how highly rated they were and the options people said they had unfortunately it was not what it seemed. I understand that fish store stock comes and goes we have several we frequent and the staff know us by name but the tanks here were cloudy and some of the fish looked questionable and they didn’t have a decent selection. I have started really venturing into coral lately but their tanks looks rough and I was worried about introducing the coral to my tanks. I was overall disappointed in how everything looked they seem like they take more pride in their not for sale tanks then the fish they are trying to sell to customer. Guess I should have taken pictures since the response to my review was nothing is wrong everything was perfect when we left this afternoon but I guess I am just looking to start drama and know nothing about wether a tank is cloudy or not”
— Michael Linsteadt1.04 weeks ago“Went as a beginner fish owner. The shop smelled so bad. Empty tanks with dead fish, leaks all over the floor, staff greater us but never asked if they could assist us. Only lasted a couple of minutes before needing fresh air.”
— Kaitlynn Brown1.0a month ago“Great place, great people! They have saltwater and freshwater here. RO water, they will fill your buckets for you and have a little cart you can use to help take the buckets to your car.”

— joshua barnett5.02 hours ago“This place smelled, was a mess, and the fish tanks were not clean or kept up. The bearded dragon had no water. I thought this place was going to be high end and an awesome place to visit but it was anything but.”
— K W1.02 weeks ago“Zoey was incredible! I bought a snake from Petco and brought it to her because the shed was stuck! Zoey took her time and patiently showed me how to remove the skin from the eye pockets! This girl truly informed me on how to properly care for my snake! I left here feeling more sure than ever before! I highly suggest this place to anyone over petco!!”
