About
Tucked into Winter Garden, Florida, Aquamania Aquarium Store has earned a devoted Central Florida following — the kind of family-owned shop where hobbyists drive in from Tampa and across Orlando just to walk the rows of crystal-clear tanks. It's a compact space that punches well above its square footage, packing an unusually deep mix of freshwater and saltwater livestock into a meticulously maintained store. The freshwater side is the heart of it.
Reviewers repeatedly call the live plant selection the largest they've found in the region, with healthy specimens ready for planted community tanks, shrimp setups, and even axolotl tanks. 99 with multi-purchase deals — alongside snails, blue rams, neon tetras, and a rotating cast of community fish. One regular stocked an entire 75-gallon community tank here and reported zero losses, crediting the owner for hand-picking specific sexes and species to order.
If you're after freshwater shrimp or live plants for sale in Winter Garden, FL, this is the room you'll linger in. The saltwater section is smaller than a dedicated reef shop but genuinely stocked: corals, sea anemones, tangs, live rock, and even RO water are available in Winter Garden, FL, with cowfish a recurring favorite. New aquarists keeping their first coral mention how patiently the team walks them through it.
The staff are the other reason people keep coming back. Benjamin, Gabe, and Alberto all earn repeat shout-outs for knowledgeable, unhurried guidance, and the family that owns the place sets a warm, good-vibe tone that the big-box stores can't match. Display tanks and aquascapes throughout double as inspiration for your own build.
The footprint can feel cramped on a busy weekend, so a weekday visit makes for a calmer browse — but the livestock quality, the clean tanks, and the genuine enthusiasm make this aquarium store a destination worth planning around.

— Marissa Baird5.03 weeks ago“Good customer service, but the guppies were pricey and didn't make it passed a week. $100+ down the drain. Also introduced bladder snails into my tank.”

— Kat Mur5.0a month ago“Long time fish lover, I had tanks growing up when I was a kid. I decided it was time to get back into it. We found this place through google and it is amazing. They have a great team (Gabe helped us), and they have a ton of plants and beautiful fresh and salt fish. Highly recommend!”

— Beatriz Elena Alzate Zapata5.0a month ago“I've stocked my 75 gallon freshwater community tank with fish from this store and I couldn't be more pleased! The owner is so incredibly welcoming and also very knowledgeable and helpful with selection! I required certain sexes of different species and he handpicked them for me so that I was getting exactly what I needed. I've shopped around at several big box stores and was highly disappointed in the dead fish in tanks, and poor quality/colors to select from in comparison and always walked out empty handed or with plants only. But the freshwater selection here is amazing! So many options to choose from for a large tank such as mine. It's been several weeks and all of my fish look perfect and beautiful! Also. ZERO DEATHS. I had a very large purchase and several bags of fish and they all made it home and acclimated wonderfully and are still looking great. The freshwater shrimp selection at this store inspired me to get a 6 gallon cube aquarium that I've been cycling and I plan to stock my shrimp from this store because they have such beautiful shrimp tanks to choose from. Seriously, you just don't see this quality and selection in other big stores. I don't know anything about saltwater and don't own saltwater tanks, but if we ever get into saltwater tanks in the future, I would trust the owner here with recommendations. He's been such a big help for my freshwater tank.”
