About
Aqua Mart Aquariums has been a fixture of the Brevard County fishkeeping scene for years, run by owner Jason — known to regulars simply as "Fishboy" — whose nonstop dedication to the hobby is obvious the moment you walk in. This independent aquarium store in Port St John, FL serves both freshwater and saltwater keepers with a deep livestock selection and the kind of patient, one-on-one guidance the big-box chains can't match. On the saltwater side you'll find corals, tangs, snails, and other invertebrates, while freshwater shoppers come for cichlids known for impressive size and coloring, angelfish, and a rotating wall of live plants.
Goldfish are a draw too: one customer drove down from the Jacksonville area after Jason tracked down her "dream fish," an oranda panda goldfish, communicating with her for nearly two weeks and holding it once it arrived. If you're hunting for healthy cichlids, tangs, or live plants for sale in Port St John, FL, this is the shop locals point you toward. Jason's expertise is the real headline.
Reviewers credit him with getting them started on their first saltwater tanks, walking them through water chemistry, and even doing in-home service calls when something goes sideways. Free water testing is part of the routine — customers bring samples in before adding new fish — and his after-hours responsiveness is well known, including leaving jugs of prepared water outside the shop when a regular's tank sprang a leak. The atmosphere is working-shop practical rather than showroom-polished; the sheer volume of tanks means a little algae comes with the territory, and Jason runs much of it himself.
Pricing on livestock, dry goods, equipment, and fish food stays competitive with online sellers, a point customers raise again and again. For anyone searching for an aquarium store near me around Port St John and greater Titusville, Aqua Mart rewards the drive with knowledgeable staff, genuine care, and fish that thrive.

And when he got it in, he was very nice to hold mine for me. He was responsive, kind, and easy to deal with. Highly highly recommend!”

Will eventually swap to a saltwater aquarium in the future, and although I'm not smart enough on the topic yet to upkeep a saltwater tank to a high degree, I know "Fishboy" does in home service calls, so you have a warm fuzzy that if something goes wrong, he'll be there to help.”

— •Shaelynn Hedberg•5.03 months ago“Store tanks arent visibly appealing. Tanks are filled with alot of nuisance algea that can be avoided with better upkeep. Nuisance algea you wouldn't want in your own tanks. Hard to really see livestock based off tanks conditions. Owner has his hands full outside of brick and mortar location and tries to juggle to much as one person. One full time employee to handle upkeep will do the store wonders. A short drive to another popular local fish store and it's a night and day difference.”

— Nick Parish5.02 hours ago“I was an avid breeder of tropical fish in the 60’s to early 90’s. Had to let the hobby step aside. Raising kids, they all played sports and band. Before you know it, college. Well I’m retired now and recently purchased a complete setup and a 125 gallon aquarium. Jason remembered me from the old store in Titusville. Jason spent a lot of time with me catching up on some progress in the last 30 years. He is very knowledgeable and brought me up to par. To get back in the hobby. Jason will always be my go to guy for anything forward from here. Thanks again Jason and staff.”
