About
Badfish Florida has become the freshwater destination in North Palm Beach, FL, the kind of shop hobbyists happily drive 30 or 40 miles to reach, passing closer stores along the way. Walk in and the first thing you notice is how clean it is: crystal-clear, immaculately maintained tanks, no fishy smell, and display aquascapes so well done that visitors describe them as jaw-dropping. It works as both a no-nonsense fish store and a showroom for what a planted tank can be.
The livestock leans exotic and hard to find. Reviewers single out the bettas as some of the most beautiful they've ever seen, alongside species like emerald eye rasboras and hillstream loaches, plus a steady rotation of healthy freshwater exotics, shrimp, and other invertebrates. If you're hunting for bettas, live aquarium plants, or driftwood and hardscape for sale in North Palm Beach, FL, this is the spot, and the plant selection earns near-universal praise from aquascapers.
As an Aquarium Co-op partner, the store carries that full line along with UNS tanks and fairly priced aquascaping supplies that serious hobbyists actually want. What keeps people coming back is the staff. Chantz, Sage, and Alexa get named again and again for being patient, genuinely knowledgeable, and happy to help.
One visitor brand-new to the hobby was walked through plants and driftwood for a first tank and told she could bring in a water sample anytime for testing to learn which fish would thrive in it. Others credit the crew with getting their tanks set up and maintained correctly from start to finish. There's an award-winning aquascaper on staff, and the owner has a reputation for being accommodating and invested in customers.
For freshwater keepers anywhere in Palm Beach County, Badfish Florida is a clean, carefully curated, in-person fish store where the fish are healthy, the plants are thriving, and the guidance is the real thing.

“Just keep swimming”
— Norberto Lopez5.03 hours ago“Wasn't greeted or acknowledged by any of the 4 people working in this tiny fish store as I walked around checking the place out for the first time. My questions were basically met with quick, one word answers. Prices are what you'd expect for a local mom n pop shop trying to stay afloat with large chain stores nearby with fish for half the price. With all that said, the store is clean and I didn't notice any dead fish.”

— Adelaide Penniman5.04 weeks ago“Came in today looking for some plants and driftwood for a new fish tank I am starting up (I am brand new to this hobby) and I was blown away by how friendly and knowledgeable all of the staff were. They were so helpful! I am relieved now to know that I can just come there if I need help or have questions along my new journey. Best part is when I am ready to add fish they will let me bring some of my water in that the will test and let me know which fish will do best in my specific tank.”

— Tommy Brand5.02 months ago“My mom and I stopped in yesterday afternoon just to have a look around. We’re from out of state and we had to kill some time before our flight. After going to this store, we wish we lived in the area! This store is amazing! Even though we explained we were just looking, all the staff were super friendly and answered any questions we had. We were even given stickers! Their prices are great too, especially for fish and plants. All of the tanks were crystal clear and very clean. Fish looked healthy and active, especially the bettas. If you’re looking for a great fish store, go to Badfish!!”
— Allison Largent5.03 months ago“Probably the best freshwater aquarium store in the southern US. Live plants, raw materials, impeccable fish health and variety, and a multitude of invertebrates. The variety will keep you coming back for more, and the fish we have purchased are well worth the drive. The staff and owner are awesome as well, they will help with any inquiries.”
