About
Floating Sea Aquatics is not your typical fish store — it's a sprawling Jacksonville, FL destination that blends a full aquarium store, an animal rescue, and a café under one roof. Walk in (admission is free) and you'll find display tanks, ponds, and waterfalls teeming with freshwater and saltwater life, plus a reptile area where bearded dragons, snakes, turtles, and axolotls are rehomed. Reviewers routinely compare an afternoon here to visiting a small aquarium, and families linger for hours.
On the livestock side, the selection runs deep. Hobbyists come hunting large cichlids — peacocks, convicts, and other African and New World species — and you'll also find puffers that regulars single out as a favorite, bettas, freshwater oddballs like hillstream loaches, shrimp, and aquatic plants. Saltwater keepers can shop clownfish (Black and Picasso Ocellaris among them) and corals; one customer's corals from here were still alive and doing well months later.
If you're searching for cichlids or clownfish for sale in Jacksonville, FL, this is one of the most stocked rooms in the city. The staff are the heart of the place. Torin gets named again and again as the go-to — incredibly knowledgeable and honest about what's actually right for your tank — and William and Devon earn the same praise.
Owner Azi personally drove out to help one customer move and install a 600-lb Innovative Marine display tank with a sump, even though it hadn't been bought from him. Beyond livestock, the store handles tank setup, water testing, and one-on-one consultation for everything from a first betta to a reef build. The kids' play area and café are being refreshed, and the store keeps adding events, touch tours, and community programming.
As with any busy shop, serious saltwater hobbyists are wise to quarantine new arrivals before adding them to an established system. For a hands-on aquarium store you can spend a whole afternoon in, Floating Sea Aquatics is genuinely one of a kind in Jacksonville, FL.

“Beautiful place and people are so nice . My children and grandchildren and me had such a great time and what they do here is just unbelievable to give back to the community and the people. If you have not been here, you definitely need to come and check it out.. Great little café also”
— Brigitte' Dupree Bosch5.02 hours ago“So first not currently worth the hype. We were super excited to finally make it out here but honestly we left disappointed with sad and hungry kiddos. First, we arrived durring lunch only to find out they were out of almost everything except sweet filled waffel things that were a dessert and hotdogs.... that is not the kind of food we eat so we had to pass. Then everything the littles could do and touch were closed. Our oldest was so hungry that the smell in the back (which was more on par with a baitshop vs aquarium) made them nauseous so we had to leave. We saw under construction postings in the kid area and I guess the cafe is maybe doing the same. We might give it a another shot at some point layer down the road and update a review if our experience is better.”

— Joe Hong5.0a day ago“Most of the fish purchased didn't survive overnight. Some eye sickly once I got them to my tank to acclimate”
— Kelly McDonald3.05 days ago“Really interesting store with knowledgeable staff and a community focus. They do all kinds of things in the community. We went over there for advice on a sick fish and were able to join an impromptu snake holding session and my kids got to also learn about starfish and hold one (after washing their hands of course.) it's kind of like going to a little aquarium”
— Joy5.05 days ago“I had visited for a while but then had a bad experience that kept me away for a good bit. Gave it another chance today and boy am I glad I did. Torin was a SAINT. Such an amazing help, incredibly knowledgeable, and overall just a joy to talk to. They've made me a repeat customer again, and best believe when I go? I want Torin's help.”
