About
Tucked into Hialeah, Florida, Neptunes Aquarium Store has built a loyal following among the area's large and passionate aquarium-keeping community. The shop stocks both saltwater and freshwater tropical fish, and reviewers consistently note how healthy and vibrant the livestock looks — a testament to the careful husbandry happening behind the scenes. Multiple customers mention the clean, well-maintained display tanks, which is always a good sign when you're evaluating a fish store.
The coral selection draws reef hobbyists from around the area, and the store positions itself as a go-to for reefing needs alongside its tropical fish inventory. Freshwater enthusiasts will find a solid variety of tropicals, and several reviewers highlight rare species they hadn't encountered elsewhere — the kind of unexpected finds that make a trip worthwhile. Live aquatic plants are also available, though pricing on those has drawn some criticism.
Staff members like Rolando (Roli), Nelson, and Tomás earn repeated praise by name for their patience, attentiveness, and personalized service. They'll walk customers through options, offer advice, and even special-order products not currently in stock. The store serves a heavily bilingual community, and Spanish-speaking customers consistently report excellent experiences.
The atmosphere is described as a bit cramped with dim lighting — more functional fish room than polished retail showroom — but that compact layout is packed with variety. Beyond retail, Neptunes offers tank maintenance and cleaning services, though reliability on scheduled appointments has been flagged as inconsistent by at least one customer. They also sell through Amazon, which has generated mixed feedback regarding fulfillment.
Pricing across the board is generally regarded as fair and reasonable, with some noting that the higher-end care justifies the cost. For Hialeah aquarists looking for healthy saltwater corals, colorful freshwater tropicals, and staff who genuinely take the time to help, Neptunes Aquarium Store delivers a personalized neighborhood fish shop experience that's increasingly hard to find.

— Bunbunchan1.0Edited a month ago“Beware sellers Amazon listings. Took my money and then disappeared. (Update: just received a response on 11/18/25, more than a year after my review. LOL! Seriously? Over a year to respond? Thank you for proving my point. And by the way, at the time I placed my order you 100% were a F.B.M. Amazon seller which means Fulfilled By Merchant. In other words, Amazon issues were to be resolved by you, not Amazon as you stated. I recall calling your shop two weeks after supposed ship date and the confused sounding employee told me you did not have the items that were listed "in-stock" on your Amazon account. Come on man, either do better or have a better excuse from now on.”

— Madelin Boudet5.05 months ago“He ido a ese lugar y le he comprado peces.
