About
Mark's Ark is a family-owned pet shop in Greenacres, FL, with deep roots in the Palm Beach County community, and while it stocks everything from birds and reptiles to rabbits, ferrets, and rodents, its fish room is what keeps local hobbyists coming back. Reviewers repeatedly single out the "incredible" variety of plants and fish, and the freshwater selection ranges from tropical community species to the nano-aquarium-sized fish that small-tank keepers get excited about. You'll find live plants, cherry shrimp, snails, and livebearers like guppies for sale in Greenacres, FL, alongside pond goldfish and the plants and water-treatment supplies one customer used to build a thriving balcony pond.
The store has also broadened into saltwater, with a recent visitor praising "a big selection of saltwater fish," so it now reads as a genuine aquarium store rather than a freshwater-only stop. The tanks are described as clean, with fish that look healthy and active, a real step up from the chain stores according to regulars, and a coat of black paint across the tank display facings makes the aquariums pop. Staff guidance is the other big draw.
Cameron earns shout-out after shout-out for patiently walking new fishkeepers through complete aquarium setups from scratch, and Danielle and Jay get credit for the same passion across the reptile and small-pet side. One recent reviewer joked she "learned more here than going to school," and several locals call this their only go-to fish store near me in the area. Pricing stays reasonable, with a case of 1,500 crickets for $30 and feeder mice cheaper than the big-box stores cited as frequent bargains, and the shop carries a full range of food, supplies, and setup essentials for aquatic and terrestrial pets alike.
For Greenacres and greater Palm Beach fishkeepers after healthy livestock, live plants, and real one-on-one help, Mark's Ark is worth the trip. Just note there's a $5 minimum on card purchases and parking can be tight.

— alexis rossi5.03 weeks ago“This is by far the worst fish store in all of Florida. The only fish that I bought from here are my kuhli loaches and they all died my ammonia nitrite and nitrate are all 0 they also sold me 2 dead snails and 6 snails with shell damage it is not because of my tank because I have 11 shrimp and not one has died yet and they have all molted successfully also I have 3 panda garra and I haven’t had any casualties yet either this is just a horrible store that doesn’t have the proper tanks for their fish and I would rate this 0 stars if I could my ph is at their natural level, and I drip acclimated them and I feed them every day. Never Ever go to this store go to any other store like colorful aquariums or Badfish. Never Ever go to Marks Ark they had 2 bamboo sharks in a tank that was less wide than 1/2 of their length”
