Pisces Fish and Coral has earned a devoted following in Rancho Cucamonga's Inland Empire, drawing customers from as far as Victorville — nearly 40 miles away — for its impressive selection of saltwater fish, corals, and freshwater livestock. Walking in, you'll immediately notice the difference from chain pet stores: tanks are clean and well-organized, fish look healthy, and the layout is visually striking with an almost gallery-like quality that makes browsing a pleasure. The saltwater side is where the store's name really shines.
Frags and corals are a major draw, with reviewers calling it the best frag shop in the Rancho area. Clownfish are popular sellers, and the staff can walk newcomers through the basics of getting started in the saltwater hobby. But Pisces holds its own on the freshwater side too.
The aquatic plant selection is one of the best around, with propagated specimens available alongside a rotating stock of live plants. Shrimp keepers will find thriving cherry shrimp colonies and multiple varieties — the store even takes phone calls to share details about their delivery schedule and current shrimp availability. Staff members like Mason, Avalon, and Garrett earn personal shout-outs from customers for their patience and product knowledge.
One regular praised how the team takes time to engage with her son on the autism spectrum, answering his fish questions and fueling his curiosity about aquatic life. That kind of genuine care shows up across dozens of reviews. Pricing consistently surprises visitors — frags, fish, plants, and supplies all come in at what many describe as the best rates in the area.
Aquarium soil and other supplies round out the inventory so you can stock a full setup in one trip. Pisces Fish and Coral stands out as the IE's go-to destination for both reef enthusiasts chasing quality frags and freshwater hobbyists building planted tanks or shrimp colonies. Just double-check their hours before making a long drive.

They were very helpful and took the time to assist us on picking out a couple of fishes. They have a good range of fishes and aquatic plants. Plus they also have salt water fishes as well

Pisces Fish & Coral has an amazing selection and clearly takes much better care of their fish than most pet stores. The tanks are clean, the fish look healthy, and there’s a wide variety of products to choose from. Visually, the store is well organized and impressive. This was my first time visiting, and I could see right away why people speak highly of it. I’m not a confrontational person and I have extreme social anxiety, so I tend to keep my visits quick. When I came in, there were about five people in the store (including me) and one employee, which seemed reasonable for the store size. The employee greeted me, asked if I had any questions, and was helpful when I asked about aquarium soil. He seemed friendly, knowledgeable, and overall a nice person. The only reason I’m leaving feedback is because of how checkout went. When it came time for the customer he’d been helping for the past 20 minutes to pay, that customer cut right in front of me and stood uncomfortably close, clearly trying to get me to move like he was “owed” the right to check out first. The employee saw this happen and still rang him up before me. I had clearly been waiting in line with one item in my hand for over 5 minutes, and it would have taken less than a minute to ring me up before continuing with him. I wish the situation had been handled differently, as it left me feeling a bit overlooked during my first visit. Overall, this is a great store with a lot to offer, and I can see why it’s so well reviewed. However, this was my first impression and it came with a bad experience. I’m just getting into the saltwater aquarium hobby, and this store seemed to have everything I’d need.

I only go here for aquarium fish. There is always someone nice to answer my questions and they take better care of their fish than large pet stores do.

I’ve shopped at this store multiple times and have always had great experiences, except with the rude blonde girl working there. She told me the plants I’ve purchased before were suddenly not for sale and told me not to touch the propagated plants, even though I’ve been allowed to handle and buy them in the past without issue. She was short, dismissive, and completely unfriendly. If there are new “rules,” this is the first I’ve ever heard of them. No other employee, including the owner, has ever said anything like that. Her attitude alone is enough to make me think twice about coming back. Lowered to 2 stars since I just seen she charged me $8.49 for the $4 propagated plants i purchased
