OCD Reefs in Salt Lake City is a dedicated saltwater-only shop that has earned a loyal following among Utah's reef-keeping community. Walk through the door and you'll find yourself surrounded by pristine frag tanks brimming with torches, frogspawns, hammers, goniopora, acropora, and scolymia — many of them grown out beautifully in-house. Their centerpiece Red Sea S1000 mixed reef display tank is a showstopper, packed with a stunning diversity of corals that demonstrates the kind of care this shop puts into its systems.
The store carries a seriously deep inventory of dry goods and equipment — reviewers consistently note it rivals online retailers in both selection and pricing. As a Red Sea dealer, OCD Reefs stocks tanks, parts, and accessories from the brand, alongside products from Reef Nutrition and Algae Barn. They also had Hydra 32 lights on hand, and when one arrived defective for a customer, the swap was immediate and painless.
Staff members like Dino and Brandon come up repeatedly in reviews for their willingness to spend real time with customers. The team asks questions about your existing setup before making recommendations — no high-pressure sales, just honest guidance tailored to your tank and budget. They've provided long-term aquarium service to local businesses, including a pediatric clinic, and they offer thorough water testing and affordable RO water.
The fish and invertebrate selection is consistently well-stocked and healthy. Multiple reviewers note that livestock arrives in excellent condition and that tanks are impeccably clean — a detail that matters when you're trying to avoid introducing algae or disease to your home reef. The filtration systems behind the scenes are impressive enough that the owner will walk you through them if you ask.
A few visitors have noted occasional slow greetings from staff, and some find coral prices on the higher side, though most consider them fair for the quality. OCD Reefs is closed Sundays, so plan your visits accordingly — weekday hours run until 7 PM. For anyone running a reef tank in the Salt Lake City area, this shop is a cornerstone resource.

Each employee here is knowledgeable and friendly. They have amazing fish and just as impressive a selection of invertebrates, corals, and anemones. Their R/O water is inexpensive, they will test your water for everything, their prices are very reasonable, too!

Well stocked store carrying a wide variety of dry goods and live stock. Staff is helpful. My go to for Reef Nutrition products as well as when I need something urgently for my tank. Dry goods are competitive to online retailers.

Recently decided to start a saltwater tank and found this store. First came to OCD Reefs on a Sunday because Google said they were open. Not open on Sunday. So came back during the week because they are open until 7 pm. Very cool store. Filled with tanks of gorgeous saltwater fish and live coral. They also have a selection of larger tanks. We may have to save up for because we are just starting out with a 14 gallon for now. Staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. We will be back for sure.

These guys have been great to deal with! I'm fairly new to the hobby and have been my go to place for advice, parts and critters for the new reef tank. Recently picked up a pair of new Hydra 32s and after installing one of them didn't work right. OCD didn't hesitate to swap it out for another. Prices and variety are on par with everyone else, and they're a Red Sea dealer so if you need parts they've got em!
