About
Tucked into a shopping center in Sugar Land, Texas, Ocean To You Aquariums has carved out a reputation as a dedicated saltwater and reef destination in the greater Houston area. Owner Joshua runs a tight ship — literally. Reviewers consistently point to the spotless tanks, crystal-clear water, and healthy livestock as standout qualities that set this store apart from the sprawling big-box alternatives scattered across the metro.
The store focuses exclusively on marine life, stocking a curated selection of saltwater fish, soft and hard corals, anemones, and clownfish. Multiple customers note the absence of aiptasia in the coral offerings, a telling detail that speaks to the care taken behind the scenes. If something isn't in stock, Joshua is known for sourcing specific fish and coral on request.
But Ocean To You is far more than a retail shop. The team handles full-service tank maintenance on a bi-weekly schedule, and several long-time clients credit them with rescuing tanks from nitrate and phosphate spikes — even responding to emergency SOS calls when equipment fails. One customer described how the crew showed up quickly to replace a return pump and rewire an electrical outlet system, saving an entire reef tank while the owner was away from home.
Perhaps the most impressive testimonial comes from a 30-year freshwater hobbyist who had failed at saltwater on his own. After connecting with Joshua, he had a custom 200-gallon aquarium built into a converted wet bar, complete with a cut-through wall for a side viewing panel. He now describes it as something you'd see at a public aquarium.
Joshua's hands-on approach — walking newcomers through their first 25-gallon reef setup, advising on compatible tank mates, and even graciously rehoming a four-year-old clownfish — earns him repeat visits from across the Houston area. The store is compact but well-organized, with competitive pricing that surprises first-timers. For anyone serious about reef keeping in Sugar Land and southwest Houston, this is a store worth the drive.

— Renee Rosas5.0a month ago“I was blown off by Joshua for 3 separate appointments that he set, and wasn't notified untill 15+ minutes after each time that he wouldn't make it. Edit : Since they want to remove my comment for never being a customer, all my appointments were made to meet the staff in store for job opportunities, so yes I still had multiple experiences with Oceans To You Aquariums that were riddled with tardyness, unprofessionalism, and downright incompetence. Some staff inside never seemed like they knew what was going on in the store when customers came in, or the wherabouts of their co-workers, or even how to answer simple questions about the company and their product. Additional Edit : Im not disgruntled that I didnt get the job, I'm expressing how this company seems to be comfortable with lying, tardiness, unorganization, and incompetence. I didn't "get the job" because this stores manager purposely himself scheduled me to come in 3 times and was a no show ALL TIMES. They have no decency here and they'll probably treat their guest like that too. The 2nd time I was there, there was someone else that was scheduled for an interview too that was treated the same as me as well, this place just has no care for who they do business for. I may not have sought this place out to be a customer, but reviews are for any experience with a location, and I surely had multiple awful ones.”
— Richard Marin1.0Edited a month ago“Oceans2You is hands-down the best saltwater aquarium store around. I bought my first tank here three years ago with zero experience, and Joshua and his team have guided me every step of the way. Their knowledge, service, and genuine care for their customers and livestock are unmatched. From setup and maintenance to sourcing healthy fish and coral, they always go above and beyond. Whether you're new or experienced, this is the place for all things reef. Exceptional.”
