About
Tiny Aquatics is a locally owned fish and aquarium store in Cedar Park, TX, serving freshwater and saltwater hobbyists across the Leander and greater Austin corridor. The Cedar Park shop carries the same depth that built the original Round Rock location's following — rows of clean, well-maintained tanks stocked with an impressive freshwater lineup. If you're hunting for cichlids for sale near me, you'll find Blue Acara, keyhole cichlids, leopard bush fish, and harder-to-source picks like Trichromis salvini, alongside Congo and Alestes tetras, rainbowfish, and angelfish — so tetras and angelfish are available in Cedar Park too.
Invertebrate keepers come for the dedicated shrimp section, with freshwater shrimp and other aquarium invertebrates for sale, while aquascapers come for one of the area's better hardscape walls — driftwood and rocks in enough variety to spend real time finding the right piece. The live plant section is a genuine standout, making this one of the easiest places to buy live aquarium plants near me for a planted tank. Aquarium equipment, tanks, and a few creative pre-assembled setups round out the dry goods.
More recently the store has expanded into saltwater, so hobbyists searching for corals near me now have a real local option in North-Central Texas — a gap the area has felt for years — with a growing coral and reef selection. Beyond livestock, the team offers aquarium tank setup help, one-on-one consultation, and even pond services; one customer credited the shop with planning a large pond build. Staff like Rusty and Addison earn steady praise for patient, detailed guidance, whether you're a newcomer stocking a first 20-gallon tank or sourcing a replacement aquarium light part instead of a full upgrade.
7 stars across 53 reviews) describe healthy fish that keep growing months after purchase, a clean shop, and a beginner-friendly team that genuinely geeks out about the hobby. For anyone in Cedar Park, Leander, or the greater Austin area building a freshwater community, exploring planted tanks, or dipping into reef, Tiny Aquatics is the kind of aquarium store that earns repeat visits.

“I had visited the RR location first but did not find the Betta fish I was looking for. A week later I went to the cedar park location and also did not find the fish I was looking for. I talked to one of the employees about which fish would get along with Otocinclus fish since I already had two of them. He recommended Apiato Agassizi fish, so I purchased two them for my 5-gallon tank. Two days after I put them in the tank, I noticed one of the Apiato fish was constantly attacking the other one. Several days later it the Apiato being attacked died. I called them to tell them what happened and they said they couldn't do anything about it and no returns. I trusted the recommendation of their employee and turned out to be a waste of money. The same person also told me those fish like the New Life Spectrum Optimum flakes so I purchased a bottle of it. Turns out they don't like it. They ate it once and spitted it out and now don't touch it. Instead, they are eating the algae tablets I feed the Otocinclus fish. I also asked if I could exchange the flake food and like before, they don't accept returns. I recommend doing some research on the fish you want to buy and the food to feed them before buying anything from this store since they won't honor their own recommendations.”
