About
Texas Aquatics has earned a devoted DFW following, with North Richland Hills fishkeepers — and plenty who drive over an hour from Rockwall — making the trip for one of the deepest freshwater selections in the area. Reviewers call it the place they shop "for all our fish needs," and the recent verdict hasn't shifted: a massive, constantly rotating stock of healthy fish at fair, often unbeatable prices. If you're hunting freshwater fish for sale in North Richland Hills, TX, this aquarium store is a regular first stop.
Freshwater is the clear heart of the inventory. The shop is repeatedly called the best around for plecos, and the community and oddball lineup runs deep — bettas, guppies and other livebearers, pea puffers, cichlids (one regular raves about the Frontosa), goldfish, plus plenty of exotics and the occasional bichir. Invertebrate fans come for shrimp, assassin snails, and the big golden mystery snails, and it stays one of the few local spots still stocking live feeders.
Live aquatic plants round out tanks, and as an Aquarium Co-Op reseller the dry goods, in-house fish food, and equipment are well covered. New and used tanks are a signature draw — shoppers regularly score pre-owned setups (one family grabbed a tank for $15), handy for a first build or a quarantine backup. What keeps people loyal is the staff.
Canton and Vincent get named again and again for patient, genuinely knowledgeable help — walking total beginners through cycling and setup, testing a water sample free before a sale, and giving honest advice about which fish actually fit your tank instead of just ringing up the register. Kids leave buzzing about the rows of massive display tanks. Ask about the rewards card, which fills to a $35 credit toward fish.
For freshwater and marine hobbyists across North Richland Hills, TX, Texas Aquatics pairs serious selection with people who clearly love the hobby.
