About
Aquaterratopia is a family-run fish store and plant haven tucked into Crowley, TX, where owners Patricia, Tin, and their crew have built one of the most distinctive aquatic shops in the DFW metroplex. Regulars describe a zoo-like store packed with fish tanks, planted displays, and bioactive enclosures, and many drive in from across Fort Worth, Burleson, Cleburne, and even Stephenville because there's simply nothing else like it nearby. The aquatics side is the heart of the place.
You'll find freshwater and saltwater fish for sale in Crowley, TX, alongside standout invertebrates — reviewers rave about the Neocaridina shrimp (which often arrive already breeding), bumblebee gobies, dawn tetras, Corydoras catfish, and hardy livebearers like guppies. Shoppers searching for aquarium plants near me consistently end up here: the live aquatic plant selection is the store's signature, and its carnivorous collection is genuinely rare, with Nepenthes, sundew, Sarracenia, and pinguicula that plant hobbyists travel for. Mosses, hardscape, isopods, and hard-to-find pond plants round out the selection.
What keeps people loyal is the guidance. Staff — including plant specialist Gwen — are repeatedly called knowledgeable and patient, explaining temperament, tank compatibility, and long-term care without upselling, and helping first-timers set up everything from a planted aquarium to a bioactive terrarium. The shop also keeps koi and pond supplies for outdoor pond keepers, plus food, dry goods, and aquarium equipment for the whole build.
Prices reflect a small independent rather than a big-box chain, but customers say the rarer livestock, healthy stock, and hands-on advice are well worth the trip. For aquarists and plant lovers around Crowley and the greater Fort Worth area, this aquarium store is a genuinely one-of-a-kind stop.

— K B5.0a week ago“This place gets 5 stars simply for existing. You need to have a local fish store where the people actually know what they're talking about and where you can get things you can't get at the pet stores. They are clearly overpriced, so if you can get the same product from a pet store, do so. I don't ding them for this, though. They don't have the economies of scale to compete on price. They are about better brands and wider access to fish and plants, and you will be able to find many things here that you couldn't get otherwise. They will even order things at the request of a single customer. I particularly appreciate their pond section as it is very difficult to find pond plants locally. On the other hand, I don't see any logical reason why being a mom and pop shop necessitates the place being disorganized and generally feeling unkept. Most things aren't labeled. When things are labeled, it's usually chaotic and confusing. Everything just seems to be thrown somewhere with no organizational plan. This makes it extremely difficult if not impossible for the customer to find the things he's looking for. I don't even try. I just immediately tell the workers what I want. Maybe that's the model they have in mind, but it's nice to be able to browse the selections.”

I explained to the lady that it’s illegal to discriminate against people with service dogs and even offered to show her my paperwork for my dog. She was extremely rude and loud and was embarrassing. I immediately left the store and am planning to file a complaint on Monday morning. I was utterly shocked by this incident.”
— Priscilla Cranmer1.02 weeks ago“Out of all the fish stores I’ve been around DFW, this is by far one of the best store. While their main specialty is aquarium plants, they also have a wide selection of tanks & hard scapes. They have fish and some reptiles too.”
— Youang Pheav5.02 weeks ago“This is a magical place that I just discovered. They helped me build a bio active terrarium for my new PAC man frog I adopted in store. I feel so welcome and happy here. They have reptiles, amphibians, fish and all the feeders. Check this awesome place out soon, your only regret will be not finding it sooner.”
