The owner of the store is more concerned with a person understanding the hobby rather than selling them something. They will ask about your prior knowledge rather than just selling coral that isn't suitable for the tank nor the person. They have a deep level of compassion and the space is quite welcoming and they don't rush you to purchase then leave. They will actually ask about you as a person and make you feel welcomed. They even brought in a couch for customers to feel welcomed. I walked in on Sunday, since I was on the wrong end of town to go to my usual store. A couple of tanks inside the door some nice size fish. I I got into the store the girl behind the counter asked if I was looking for anything special. I told her I was wanting a small Oranda. (Aka Lion Head Goldfish). She turned her head looking at the tanks for a minute and said, that no, they didn't have those, but they do have other African Cichlids! 🤦🏻♀️ I knew at that point that her wealth of information wasn't going to gete anywhere so I just walked around the store one time, to avoid just walking straight out after that. That's when a big guy from the back came out. I thought maybe he's the brains of the operation. Couldn't tell you though, as he walked around me said something to the girl and went right back into the back and shut the door behind him. Not a word. So besides half of the tanks being empty, the very poorly lit environment (mostly black lights), and extraordinarily knowledgeable staff, it's a great place to...um, well, maybe watch TV in the back room, as that's pretty much all I could hear. Supposed they have African Cichlids though, so there's that...”
