Fish Mania has been a fixture of the East Ridge and greater Chattanooga aquarium scene for years, and the longevity shows in both the depth of their inventory and the loyalty of their customers. Walk through the door and you'll find a well-stocked shop carrying freshwater and saltwater fish, live corals, aquatic plants, driftwood, and a respectable selection of rimless aquariums at competitive prices. The freshwater side covers serious ground — angelfish, bristlenose plecos, clown loaches, blue tetras, bettas, corydoras, goldfish, koi, and guppies all make appearances.
One regular credits Fish Mania with fueling an addiction that grew to over 200 fish across 18 tanks. The saltwater selection is equally noteworthy; multiple reviewers call it the best in the Chattanooga area, and the staff has earned a reputation for walking newcomers through every step of setting up their first reef or saltwater tank. You might even meet Dale, the resident puffer fish who gets hand-fed by employees during visits.
Invertebrate lovers will find hermit crabs, red racer snails, and more, while the plant selection rounds out the store's appeal for planted tank enthusiasts. The shop also stocks canister filters, accessories, and dry goods, and staff have been known to help customers get equipment up and running after purchase. Owner Ethan and his team are the consistent thread across hundreds of reviews.
They answer questions at length — even from a five-year-old asking a thousand of them — and they're straightforward about what fish will work in your specific setup rather than pushing unnecessary purchases. That honesty has built real trust with the local fishkeeping community. The tanks are generally clean and well-presented, though a few visitors have noted the occasional sick fish, so inspecting tankmates before buying or quarantining new arrivals is smart practice.
Overall, Fish Mania delivers a genuine neighborhood fish store experience with the inventory depth to back it up — a place where a quick stop for driftwood can easily turn into an afternoon of browsing and learning.

Stopped by to pick up some driftwood and some other misc stuff. They have a great variety and the pricing is some of the best on Rimless aquariums in our area. My only complaint is there were quite a few aquarium with sick fish. Just double check fellow tankmates before buying or quarantine!

So glad I ignored the mixed reviews on here! I’m so happy I checked them out cause I have to say, I never felt so welcomed in a store before! Employees were super honest and showed true interest in helping me set up a fish tank. They clearly care about their customers! They had lots of types of fish and a puffer named dale that we got to feed! 10/10

Fish Mania is a great fish store with people you can actually trust. The staff is super honest and never tries to sell you something you don’t need. They take the time to answer questions and make sure you’re getting fish that are right for your tank. The store is clean, the fish are healthy, and everything is well taken care of. It’s honestly unbelievable how long this place has been around, and that alone shows they really know what they’re doing. A shop like this doesn’t last that long unless they’re doing things right. Highly recommend.

I have purchased: a betta, 2 angel fish, 2 clown loaches, 2 red racer snails, a bristlenose pleco, 3 blue tetra, several plants… and let me tell you!!!! The angel fish will eat out of my hand. The betta will wait for you by the glass to get its daily dose of attention and the bristlenose will cutely run away anytime you get near for fear if you see him he will cease to exist…. 1000000000000/5 stars for sure my favorite place to go.
