Bermuda Triangle Tropical Fish has carved out a strong reputation in Chattanooga as a go-to destination for both freshwater and saltwater hobbyists. Walking into their newer location, the first thing that strikes you is the cleanliness — tanks are impeccably maintained, well-lit, and free of the dead fish and murky water that plague lesser shops. Multiple reviewers note the store even smells good, which is saying something for a place housing hundreds of aquatic creatures.
The saltwater side is where Bermuda Triangle particularly shines. Coral reefers in the Chattanooga area consistently point to this shop as their best local resource, with a solid coral selection and healthy saltwater livestock. They sell pre-mixed five-gallon saltwater jugs, a practical touch for hobbyists who'd rather skip the home chemistry.
Every visit includes a complimentary water test, a service that keeps customers coming back and their tanks thriving. Staff member John is frequently singled out by name for his deep saltwater knowledge — he's walked more than a few nervous first-time reef keepers through the process of setting up their systems. On the freshwater side, the cichlid selection draws fans from well outside the immediate area, with one reviewer calling it their number-one cichlid spot.
Live plants are consistently praised as beautiful and healthy, and the store stocks a range of tropical species from golden white cloud minnows to blue guppies and beyond. Pond fish round out the inventory. Pricing is the most common criticism — several reviewers note that fish and especially corals run higher than competitors.
But the counterargument comes just as frequently: the livestock is healthy, the tanks are pristine, and you're paying for quality that other local shops can't match. Staff like John and Cody take time with customers, offering honest product recommendations without aggressive upselling. For Chattanooga aquarists who value livestock health and genuine expertise, Bermuda Triangle earns its loyal following.

Best resource for saltwater coral reefers that I've found in the Chattanooga area. No "sick tanks" or stinky back rooms here. All of the tanks are beautifully well-maintained, the staff has sage advice for newbies, and the selection is great. You get a free water test on every visit, and may appreciate the simplicity of their pre-mixed 5-gal saltwater jugs to skip the home chemistry.

This place is awesome! Fish and plants are absolutely beautiful. The man who helped me was EXTREMELY helpful and knowledgeable, great customer service from him. I’ll definitely make that my go to fish store from now on. *edit I just need to further emphasize how awesome this store is. They remembered me from months ago, and were grateful I returned. They’re just so nice. So helpful. I’ve been to other fish stores in Chattanooga, and they all act snooty when I go in. This place though? Top tier customer service, beautiful fish, and healthy plants. If I could give more stars I would.

Fish prices seemed fair, and they have a good saltwater selection, but the owner seemed to be very petty toward other fish stores in the area. One of the remarks he made was especially off-putting. I came in looking for a fish the other fish store that I liked didn't have, but Bermuda Triangle did have in stock. Granted, I was wearing a t-shirt shirt of the other store i prefer, but the comment he made came off as so petty that it makes me only want to do the minimum business possible.
