About
Bermuda Triangle Tropical Fish has earned a devoted following in Chattanooga as the area's go-to aquarium store for both freshwater and saltwater hobbyists. Walk through the door of their newer space and the first thing you notice is how immaculate everything is: tanks are crystal clear, well-lit, and free of the dead fish and murky water that plague lesser shops. More than one reviewer mentions the place actually smells clean, which is no small feat for a store housing hundreds of aquatic animals.
The saltwater side is where this shop really stands out. Reef keepers repeatedly call it the best source for saltwater fish for sale in the Chattanooga, TN area, with healthy livestock and coral frags that make it easy to start or grow a reef tank. Owner John is named again and again for his patience and genuine expertise; one first-time saltwater customer credits him with helping her build two thriving tanks from zero knowledge.
Newer staff like Roy recently spent over an hour walking a nervous beginner through cycling her first tank. Practical touches keep regulars loyal: a complimentary water test on every visit, pre-mixed five-gallon saltwater jugs to skip the home chemistry, and a spotless back-room quarantine system where fish and coral are held before they ever reach the sales floor. Freshwater shoppers are just as well served.
The cichlid selection is praised as a top local pick, the live plants are consistently called beautiful and healthy, and you'll find everything from golden white cloud minnows to blue guppies and pond fish available in Chattanooga, TN. The store is fully stocked with tanks, accessories, and the supplies you need to set up or upgrade an aquarium. Pricing is the recurring knock; fish and especially corals run higher than big-box stores or some competitors.
But the counterpoint comes just as often: the livestock is healthy, the tanks are pristine, and the advice is honest and pressure-free. For Chattanooga aquarists who value fish health and real expertise, Bermuda Triangle keeps earning the trip.

“I went to this store for the first time and John and Roy were INCREDIBLY helpful! It is my first time owning fish and I was having a hard time cycling my tank in a timely manner (trying and struggling for almost two weeks)... They gave me some magical stuff and my tank started cycling within a few hours... I was very shocked and surprised!! That was actually amazing and I will definitely be a repeat customer now that I can actually start stocking fish! They also answered questions for OVER AN HOUR very patiently which I really appreciated! There was no judgement and I felt very welcomed. Thank you so much John and Roy!! I will see you next week!”

The selection is amazing, the tanks are clean and well-maintained, and it’s clear that the health and care of the animals are a top priority. Whether you’re new to the hobby or have years of experience, you’ll find quality livestock, great products, and honest advice. I walked into Bermuda Triangle with zero knowledge about saltwater fish, John ( the owner ) happily helped me with everything I needed to know and now a few months later I have a thriving saltwater aquarium ( or two ) 🤣 He takes the time to answer questions, offer guidance, and make sure customers leave with the information they need to be successful. It’s rare to find someone who genuinely cares about both their customers and the hobby as much as he does. If you’re looking for a fish store you can trust, this is the place to go. I HIGHLY recommend !”

— BRANDON GODSEY5.02 months ago“Got some good fish here but the rep didn't tell us much, so first aquarium, researched setup, testing, fish have been happy. Came here to add to the tank and got some fish here and a frog cause it looked cool. African clawed was the type, he didn't say it wouldn't go along with the other fish we bought here that day and the frog ate a few of my fish. Took the frog back here just to give it back for free cause I didn't wanna see it die. $24 in fish and $16 frog later. I'm not a fish professional and it was the people at PetSmart that told us the difference between our African clawed vs African dwarf. So now we bought the dwarfs from PetSmart and have some really cool peaceful frogs 😎 I'm sure these guys do good with fish. But I would not recommend coming here to ask questions or get the right compatible fish for you tank.”
