Tucked into rural Pipersville, Pennsylvania, Cuboid Nature Aquarium has become a pilgrimage destination for freshwater planted tank enthusiasts across the mid-Atlantic. People regularly drive two hours from New Jersey and beyond to visit this Euro-style aquascaping store, and the consensus is clear: it's worth the trip. The store's focus is unmistakable the moment you walk in.
Stunning fully aquascaped display tanks line the space, offering immediate inspiration for anyone building a planted setup. The live plant selection is extensive — from beginner-friendly bundles to harder-to-find species — and the quality is consistently praised as far superior to what's available through online marketplaces. Driftwood, stones, and hardscape materials are abundant and competitively priced, often cheaper than what customers find elsewhere.
Nano fish, bettas, shrimp, and rare freshwater species round out the livestock offerings, all kept in immaculate tanks with a reported two-week-plus acclimation and quarantine process. What truly sets Cuboid apart is the staff. Employees like Madelyn, Taryn, Harvey, and others are repeatedly singled out for their patience with newcomers and deep knowledge of aquascaping and planted tank care.
Harvey has been known to make house calls to help customers set up CO2 injection systems. Staff members can point you to the exact location of any plant in the store and suggest appropriate alternatives when something's out of stock. Multiple reviewers describe spending 30 minutes or more in guided conversations without a hint of pressure.
Cuboid also runs a well-regarded online store, shipping plants year-round and fish during warmer months. Their packaging has earned effusive praise from customers who've been burned by sloppy Amazon and eBay sellers — plants arrive healthy, well-protected, and often more generous than described. For anyone in the freshwater aquascaping world within driving distance of Bucks County, this store has filled a void that's existed since the pandemic shuttered so many independent fish shops.
The combination of pristine livestock, serious hardscape inventory, and genuinely passionate staff makes Cuboid a destination, not just a store.

Last weekend I visited Cuboid for the first time. I was a little nervous, a little intimidated but also very excited because I was there to purchase items for my first tank. When I walked in I was immediately greeted by staff but not hounded (which can be a little much I think we can all agree). I walked around for about five minutes in awe of everything, admiring the planted tanks and just ridiculously giddy about everything. A woman named Madelyn asked if I needed help and then spent probably 30 minutes walking around the store answering all my beginner questions with patience and kindness and equal enthusiasm. She showed me all sorts of cool stuff and made recommendations based on the research I had done on my own. She was so awesome. She left me feeling confident and ready for this new journey. I picked out my substrate, the plants I wanted and a piece of gorgeous driftwood that, when I was at the register checking out, multiple employees complimented me on (other staff who helped me was Taryn, my name twin and Derick who I KNOW doesn't have a K in his name but I can't remember the correct spelling, also Johnny - they were all so cool). This is only my third time writing a Google review but I couldn't NOT share my experience, because it was truly awesome & I can't wait until my tank is ready for fish & I can go back! I highly recommend Cuboid. It's cool to go to a store & it be so obvious that the employees actually genuinely enjoy their jobs.

If I could give them more stars I would. I have never experienced such wonderful customer service. I placed a online order for plants, some wood and a light. I am new to a planted tank so have been thoroughly researching easy beginner friendly plants. I was thrilled they had a option available to select a bundle for easy beginner plants. After placing the order I called a day or so later to see if I could get a idea of what to expect so I could make sure I could research what I could. I was treated so kindly and recieved clear communication and thorough follow up when there was a pending question that needed answering. I will be going to them for any future needs before any other company because of this. Thank you so much!!

We spent months preparing for a Betta fish, building the tank from scratch. We spent a lot of time researching exactly how we wanted our tank. When it came time to buy plants every Etsy creator, or online shop had reviews about dead/sick plants being shipped. We drove 2 hours to this location because we heard only good things, and you can see the plants in person. The first thing we noticed was the prices were cheaper for some large decorations (like stones) than anywhere else we looked. The tanks were super clean, the fish looked healthy, and the staff was very friendly. Tayrn was the employee who assisted us. We came in with 6-8 plants we were hoping to find. She not only knew where every plant was located in the store but was very informed about them. She answered our questions about appropriate replacements for the plants we liked that weren't in stock. The entire experience was pleasant (except the drive) would recommend to anyone, weather you know what you want already or if you have no clue what to buy, the Cuboid Nature Aquarium is the right place to go. They ship plants, and can ship fish during warmer months too.

Best local fish store since Covid. When the economy of covid hit? We lost ALLLLLL the excellent, actually caring about their livestock mom and pops straight out of business while petsmart and petco overcharge for a tank of ICH. Do yourself a favor and take the time for a trip here. They have it all, within the ENTIRE store I saw ONE dead guppy with a single employee working. They acclimate for 2+ weeks killing anything, I am VERY pleased a good aquatic store has opened. Too long since I have seen a great one like this. Also? VERY fairly priced.

This company is seriously top notch!!! I have ordered a variety of plants and shrimp and have always recieved everything in perfect condition!!! Forget the garbage on ebay that promises so much but upon arrival you recieve a bag of slime that at one point was plants. the way these guys package their shipments is outstanding!!! I CAN NOT RECOMEND THESE GUYS ENOUGH, THEY ARE HANDS DOWN THE BEST IN THE BUSINESS AND KNOW EXACTLY HOW TO PACKAGE ORDERS PROPERLY AND THIS MAY SOUND LIKE A SIMPLE TASK BUT TRUST ME IF YOU HAVE ORDERED PLANTS OFF AMAZON OR EBAY YOU WILL SEE THE SLOP THEY SEND. Save yourself the headache just order whatever it is you need in the aquarium hobby from these guys because i believe they are the best in this business!!!! To all the folks at Cuboid thank you for all the quality goods you offer ,you have gained a life long customer with me because you guys are second to none!!!!!

Ordered a pack of 12 plants - I couldn't have been more impressed. I received many plants i did not yet have. The variety, quality and number of individual plants were comparable to what ive received at my local fish store. The only issue, if you could call it that, was the note that 1 annubias would be sent. I had gone out and purchased a pack of very small annubias - and cuboid sent two beautiful, larger annubias. Annubias can be one of the more expensive aquarium plants so I am in ko way complaining. The plants, again, were in great shape and the variety was fantastic.
