Tucked along a Brodheadsville road, One Fish Two Fish is the kind of neighborhood aquarium shop that earns its loyal following one tank at a time. Owner Quentin runs the operation with a hands-on approach — customers consistently mention his willingness to sit down and talk through tank setups, fish compatibility, and water chemistry before making a sale. One reviewer credits him with saving roughly 35 fish by diagnosing tank problems and offering practical guidance.
That consultative style sets the shop apart from big-box alternatives like PetSmart, which several reviewers say they've abandoned entirely in favor of Quentin's expertise. The store specializes in freshwater tropical species sourced from around the world, and the rotating inventory keeps regulars coming back weekly. Expect to find orandas, loaches, and a broad spread of colorful community fish — reviewers frequently praise the vibrant coloring and hardiness of what they bring home.
Quentin also stocks live aquatic plants and filter supplies, along with decorative aquarium stones and other dry goods. If something isn't on the shelves, he'll order it in for you. The shop is compact but packed.
One reviewer described being genuinely surprised by the inventory depth on every visit, with new arrivals appearing regularly. Pricing draws praise too — several customers call the rates generous or reasonable, particularly compared to chain stores. There's also apparently a notable turtle selection for those looking beyond fish.
It's worth noting that a handful of reviews mention tank cleanliness concerns, with a few visitors reporting less-than-ideal conditions on certain visits. The majority of feedback, however, paints a picture of healthy, well-cared-for fish and a shop owner who genuinely cares about the animals leaving his store. For freshwater hobbyists in the Pocono region, One Fish Two Fish offers something increasingly rare: a local shop where the person behind the counter knows your tank as well as you do, and isn't afraid to tell you when something won't work.
Just double-check the hours before you drive — they're closed Mondays.

Fish are in terrible conditions, dying in corners of dirty tanks. Interesting selection of fish but they literally had beta fish with not enough water to fully cover themselves in bags on the counter. Friendly people but again literally terrible conditions

Sorry for your problem JESENIA ROSARIO, if you brought fish that looked healthy and were alive and swimming from any aquarium shop and 4 hours later they were dead, I would proberly start to look at my water in my own tank. I'm just saying. Fish don't die that fast unless there's a problem in the tank they were put in. We are always here to make sure all of our customers are always happy with their spent hard earned money. I would have been more than happy to help you correct your tank and replace your fish at no cost even if it was not our fault. Next time don't be so quick to try to put everything that does not please you on blast on the internet. It's easier to just ask for help when needed.
