The Fish Bowl Too is a family-owned pet store in Apollo, Pennsylvania, run by Brenda and her father, who have been serving the local community for years. The shop carries a range of pet supplies including fish, reptiles, small animals like guinea pigs and mice, snakes, cats, and associated dry goods and fish food. Multiple generations of customers recall visiting since childhood, drawn by the personal touch and prices that undercut big-box retailers.
The store stocks freshwater fish tanks and basic aquarium supplies, though the selection can be inconsistent. Reviewers note that finding specific fish tank accessories can be hit or miss, and the freshwater aquariums on display have drawn mixed reactions — some customers have reported unhealthy-looking fish, while longtime patrons appreciate having a local source for fish food and pet essentials without driving to larger stores in Ford City or beyond. The shop's resident cats are a defining feature of the experience — free-roaming felines greet visitors at the door, and many reviewers describe them as sweet and lovable.
The personal, small-town atmosphere is frequently praised, with the owners described as genuinely nice and welcoming. For those in the immediate Apollo area, the store fills a gap as the closest local pet supply option. However, cleanliness and animal care are persistent concerns raised across many reviews.
Dust, odor, and general upkeep issues are mentioned frequently, and several customers have reported problems with fish dying shortly after purchase, along with a no-return policy on livestock. Store hours can be unpredictable, with occasional unannounced closures frustrating customers who drive significant distances. The Fish Bowl Too occupies a complicated spot in the Apollo pet community — valued by loyal customers for its affordability, personal service, and local convenience, but challenged by maintenance and animal welfare issues that many reviewers wish would be addressed.
For basic pet supplies and fish food in a pinch, it serves its purpose for nearby residents.

It smells very bad and they didn't have anything I needed for just regular fish tank. You have to yell at the old man working there for him to even hear you and there is nobody else there

Ann old man runs the place. I'm guessing he helped build the pyramid in Egypt kinda old here. Nice man, very nice even... But I'm guessing he opened the place with a spouse who had long since passed, so he's hanging onto a better life memory... Not trying to be mean, but the place is in disrepair... Haha the fish were dead, the place had cats running around missing limbs and eyes... Etc other bad things you don't want from a pet store... If you need fish food close by then this is the place for YOU! Otherwise no real reason to stop there. The store, like the man, are about to die... Sad...

The owner is so nice and I love the kitties that live there and free roam they're so sweet and all are very lovable. You can't not walk in here and not buy something as prices are better than the big chain pet stores and you get a better more personal experience as a customer. I've bought stuff here ranging from fish items down to dogs and cats throughout the years. I would highly suggest supporting this great local pet store!

Place is covered in cat hair . There was literally cat shit on the floor it stunk so bad. Prices are over the top . Trust me lady you are not the only place around. 2 little lights for well over a hundred dollars your crazy and out of your mind . Clean it up fish tanks growing algae so many cats could barely turn a corner without almost trampling on one. A few is ok but not that many. People that have allergies should be able to come into a healthy environment and not almost die due to the amount of cat hair and dust. Never again will I shop there. I will drive all the way to fordcity where the prices are better and you can actually get what you need without dying from cat hair and the stench. The place should be reported and made to clean up or shut down .

Came here because it is close to my house. I bought 3 fish, and within 6 hours 2 of them died. I went back the next morning and they said they have a no return policy and wanted me to bring a sample of tank water that didn’t have a dead fish in it.

Still not sure how this place is still open. Its the only pet store I know if in the area so it could be booming if it didn't stink so bad and the prices weren't so high. The animals have never looked healthy here.

Very very very gross. Prices are not good considering most items are covered in dust and urine. Animals are not taken care of. Hours really just depend on if they feel like opening or not. Place needs to be shut down completely! I have lived out here for 5+ years now and in the handful of times I have went here just for crickets it has never gotten better. Cleanliness or the caring of the animals smh it's sad honestly.

Looked up their hours on google and Facebook. Drove 45 mins one way to get there for when they open. There was a small handwritten sign in door that said “sorry closed today. Try again tomorrow”. No updates on Facebook page or google.
