Aquarium Artisans in Springdale, Ohio has carved out a reputation as one of the Cincinnati area's go-to destinations for both freshwater and saltwater enthusiasts. The store is divided into clearly marked freshwater and saltwater sections, giving it a clean, modern feel that makes browsing intuitive. On the saltwater side, the coral selection draws serious collectors — one regular reviewer mentioned having $600 worth of coral picked out in a single visit.
Clownfish are a popular purchase, and the store sells saltwater by the gallon for reef keepers doing water changes. The freshwater side is equally compelling. Customers have walked out with complete planted tank setups, including a 5-gallon planted aquarium with all the trimmings.
The store stocks driftwood and wooden hardscape for aquascaping projects, though inventory rotates. Tanks are available up to at least 90 gallons, making it a solid option for hobbyists planning upgrades. Staff members Brittany and Todd get called out by name for their expertise and willingness to help customers dial in both fish and coral selections.
Several reviewers describe the atmosphere as welcoming, with one noting that staff patiently answered a six-year-old's questions about fish and aquariums. Visitors from out of state have praised how the team helped them prepare fish for safe transport home. The store does have its critics.
A handful of reviewers reported feeling ignored or rushed by certain employees, and a few had concerns about fish health after purchase. These experiences appear to be the exception rather than the rule, but they're worth noting. 6-star average across 450 reviews, Aquarium Artisans delivers a well-rounded aquarium shopping experience.
The combination of healthy livestock, quality equipment, tank maintenance services, and a knowledgeable core staff makes it a worthwhile trip for fish keepers across the greater Cincinnati region.

Second time at this store and will be the last!! After waiting around by the coral tanks for about 20-30mins (literally in one spot, and having decided what ones I will be adding to my collection) not ONE employee offered to help me but instead offered a couple that literally just walked in if they had anything picked out!! Kinda pissed me off but yet waited a few more mins for someone to come back, and nobody ever did!!! Instead at least 4-5 employees standing by the register laughing and joking. I believe the first time I was here I had the same thing happen. And honestly I had about $600 in coral picked out plus a pair of clowns.. but I guess my money isn’t good enough for your store.. only thing I can say is don’t judge a book by its cover. I will never again step foot in this place

I couldn’t rave enough about this fish store. I am in there at least one to two times a week. I am a coral lover, but also like fish. Brittany and Todd have been amazing with helping me with both. I even bought my 90 gallon here for my future upgrade! It’s like having another family for the aquarium hobby. I highly recommend this store! My favorite in the Cincinnati area!

We went in to look for wooden hardscape. They had a small section at the time of our visit but a staff member did tell us more was coming and some of what was out is going to be donated. The store is very clean and modern feeling. They have an amazing selection of coral. I like that the “fresh water” and “salt water” tanks are on separate sides of the store with clean signage above.

Everytime I buy fish from here they die quick. Not sure what's up. We went back with water, they said it was fine, they all died again. I didnt have tome to drive all the way back. Fish are also very expensive. Bought same fish from pets mart next day, they are doing great.

I have never been so offended in my whole life. We were there on a Friday and bought the wrong thing for our canister filter so we went the next day to return it and purchase the correct item. The guy asked us 3 different times if we were ready to return our item and each time we said we were looking around to get more stuff. My husband even offered for the guy to hold our return that was in their black bag still at the front and he said well, lets just do it now. I got the impression he thought we were going to steal something. So instead of buying the $200 driftwood and numerous fish to fill our new tank we left. We went right down the road to finspiration, were they were so helpful and friendly. Their prices were even better, so I ended up spending roughly 400 bucks at their store, it would have cost alot more at this store and they missed out on a sale.
