About
Triad Reef Critters has spent over a decade earning its standing as one of Greensboro's most trusted aquarium stores, and the newest reviews keep repeating the same line: this is the cleanest, most well-organized fish shop in the Triad. Walk in and the tanks make the case themselves — rows of healthy freshwater and saltwater livestock, multiple coral systems running from affordable small frags up to mature show colonies, and water clean enough that regulars clearly trust the care behind every fish. The saltwater side is where the store lives up to its name.
Reef keepers praise the coral selection and the fair frag prices, and newcomers crossing over from freshwater get walked through the whole process — one customer recently had the staff help him pick out "the best and coolest clown fish ever" while making the jump to salt. If you're shopping for corals, clownfish, or marine invertebrates for sale in Greensboro, NC, this is a shop that screens its livestock by hand, including freshwater dips to check incoming fish for flukes. Freshwater hobbyists are just as well served.
The betta wall draws compliments as the nicest selection some shoppers have ever seen, and the guppy tanks — dumbos, fancy males, and pretty females — send people home with more fish than they planned on. You'll also find tetras, plecos, mystery snails, and a strong stock of aquatic plants, all tended by a freshwater team that nets your picks gently and answers every question without rushing. The bench talent runs deep.
Patrick has built custom rigs like a 150-gallon African cichlid system with dual sumps and tidy under-tank plumbing, and Joseph is the name regulars ask for at the counter. One Marine veteran came in chasing Star sapphire African cichlids and left with exactly the trio of males and single female the staff promised — healthy, and every bit as beautiful as advertised. Add fair prices, dry goods, foods, and full tank gear, and it's easy to see why Greensboro's aquarium community keeps coming back.

— Duncan Hillery5.02 months ago“So I went to this store today, and bought aquatic plants out of a tank with small Guppies in it, and found weird and tiny clusters of eggs on the back of the leaf, was it guppy eggs? Update: Guppies do not lay eggs they give birth to live young, so that means they were snail eggs”
