About
Lebanon Pet & Aquarium Center is a sprawling, family-owned shop in West Lebanon, NH that pulls devoted customers from an hour or two away across the Upper Valley and greater New England. It spreads across two floors: upstairs holds birds, small animals, and a deep wall of supplies, while the downstairs aquarium and reptile department is where fishkeepers spend their time. " The aquarium room is the draw for anyone hunting for community fish near me.
Rows of freshwater tanks hold schooling tetras, clown loaches, and other community species, with bettas for sale in West Lebanon, NH and a small wall of accessories like the leaf hammocks one young reviewer happily picked up for their betta. The fish staff are known for talking through compatibility before you buy, and they take their livestock seriously — an out-of-state guest noted the clean, appropriately sized enclosures and the species-care signs posted around the store. Axolotls turn up here too, though availability comes and goes and the team can be protective about who takes one home.
Saltwater coral frags have appeared on and off over the years, so it's worth calling ahead if reef stock is what you're after. As with any busy livestock store, give the tanks a careful look before purchasing. Upstairs is half the fun.
A 26-year-old African Grey named Grigio holds court, playing peekaboo with visitors, alongside parakeets, canaries, and other birds in spacious open-topped enclosures; staffer Luce earns repeat praise here. The reptile side adds iguanas, snakes, and lizards. You'll also find local and organic pet foods for dogs and cats, plus the kind of niche supplies the chains skip.
Prices run higher than big-box stores — that's the trade-off for an independent aquarium store with this much variety and genuine expertise. For Upper Valley fishkeepers, it remains a worthwhile trip.

Customer reviews
“Visited from out of state. I’m very used to small pet stores keeping their animals in less than ideal conditions and carrying supplies of questionable quality. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this was not the case here- signs posted around the store provided education on the species as well as proper care. Enclosures were clean and appropriate in size/enrichment. It was very clear that this store values the health and care of its animals over making a quick buck, which made me so happy to see.”

— Lance Foster3.0a month ago“I’ve only visited once, but it was a fantastic experience. I went in looking for Fromm Classic Puppy kibble, and even though they didn't have the specific one I needed in stock, the staff was incredibly helpful. They even offered to pre-order it for me! Excellent customer service—I’ll definitely be back. Great first visit!”

— ouellette eric5.0a month ago“I usually visit here when I take a ride to King Arthur as I have a bird and like to look at various things for my bird. They had in the past a beautiful Macaw which was not there. The bird was surely missed. However they do have other varieties of birds. I walked through and looked at the fish downstairs. I found some new treats for my dog and an a toy for my neighbors cat. My bird loves the new seed I got him. Many choices here for your pets.”
— Patricia Rogacki4.0a month ago“The store is nice, the staff is nice. I loved seeing the rabbits and birds! I was so upset to see the Fish aquarium. It was filthy, smelled, and dead fish were in the tanks. They could absolutely do much much better!”
— Alicia Downs3.02 months ago“Their fish are dying and they won’t do anything about it and the staff was rude when I asked about it”
