About
Woofmeow is a sprawling, dog-forward pet store in Dover, NH that also keeps a freshwater fish and invertebrate corner worth a look for local aquarists. It is not a dedicated aquarium shop — the spotlight here is the indoor dog pool, self-serve woof wash, grooming salon, and a deep wall of premium pet foods — but if you keep tanks in the Seacoast area, the live-animal section is a handy stop when you're already in for kibble or treats. On the aquatics side, the store stocks freshwater livestock geared toward community tanks.
99, exactly the kind of everyday restock that makes a nearby fish store useful. If you're searching for shrimp, snails, or a pictus catfish near me, this is a genuine local option without a drive to a bigger metro. A few honest notes from fellow fishkeepers: the aquatic department is modest next to the polished dog departments, and some customers have wished for more species knowledge from floor staff and closer tank upkeep.
Treat it as a convenient source for starter invertebrates and common community fish rather than a rare-species destination, and look livestock over before you buy as you would anywhere. Beyond the tanks, the retail floor earns steady praise for being clean, well-organized, and stocked with quality brands like Orijen, raw and freeze-dried foods, homemade dog bakery treats, and toys. Groomers such as Ashley Welch draw loyal followings, and the 30-minute pool sessions are a hit with active Labs.
" For Dover-area aquarists wanting freshwater basics close to home — plus a full pet store under one roof — Woofmeow is an easy in-person stop.

— EB5.03 months ago“Lots of pet options and helpful staff. I had to grab a new spotted pictus catfish and the had 7 three inchers at 16.99 I grab one to replace my 8 year old one that moved on to the big fishbowl in the sky.”
— Eric Bisson5.03 months ago“We love letting our lab swim here and then give him a bath where we can dry him. However, since we’ve been coming here (4 years) it has gone downhill! Pool is ok, definitely has chemicals, the bathing area has definitely taken a hit… water is lukewarm at best & that’s being kind. Blowers used to have nozzles, now there are none. Staff wearing baggy sweatpants, I understand it’s a pet store but is that what you want to portray as a business?”
— Valeri Previe2.04 months ago“Bought 2 rats from here 2 days ago and one of them passed away last night. Sold us a sick rat, don’t purchase from here. They make you sign a waiver so you can’t get a refund no matter what. Tried making it seem like it was my fault when according to our vet it was a pre-existing condition that was there before purchase. Highly unprofessional”

— Julie Morgan5.03 weeks ago“Zero. My boyfriend and i came in here last night looking for things for our dogs (as one does at a pet store). My boyfriend noticed their ettasays chews and we were looking at the chew meter on all of them when i looked at a different ettasays chew and noticed tons and tons of worms in them. I checked to see if they were in the other ones as well so i could bring them up to the cashier so they knew which ones they were and ofc the other ones had them too. I was trying to be nice by letting them know before a rude customer came in and scolded them, apparently i should have just let that happen lol. Their weirdo manager or supervisor (don’t know cause all she did was talk shit in the aisle next to us) came out asking what was going on. The girl explained and this woman was being so rude to her employee w the way she was speaking to her. She starts asking “who found this” and the girl obviously said it was me, this weirdo says something along the lines of “why is she looking at them”. Literally what kind of question is that? It is a pet store, we’re looking for shit for our dogs. Then proceeds to act as if it is our fault literal worms were coming out of their product and not their employees who it got past. Don’t buy those unless you want your doggies to get sick!!!! Have fun w the worms, hope your next customer isn’t nice!😁😁😁”
