About
Lynn's Exotics & Aquatics is a family-owned fish store in Wentzville, MO that has built a loyal following over nearly a decade, drawing aquarists from across St. Charles County and the greater St. Louis metro.
The aquatics side is a genuine destination: longtime hobbyists keeping five tanks at home praise the quality and health of the freshwater fish, and the store's aquariums have been described as some of the cleanest in the St. Louis area. Lynn herself is the person fishkeepers request by name for aquarium and stocking advice, and regulars say she's worth the short wait.
If you're hunting for freshwater fish for sale in Wentzville, MO, this is the kind of independent shop the big-box chains can't match. Beyond the community tanks you'll find bettas, freshwater snails and shrimp, and live aquarium plants — one regular specifically calls out the duckweed they keep in stock. The store carries the practical side of the hobby too: tanks, filters, cleaning supplies, and fish food, making it an easy one-stop visit to set up or maintain a tank.
Staff are known for talking through your setup instead of upselling, and if they don't have something on hand they'll often try to track it down for you. The fish room shares the floor with a deep exotics operation — ball pythons, leopard geckos, frogs and toads — plus the live feeders (Dubia roaches, crickets, feeder rats and mice) that reptile keepers drive in for at prices well below the chains. Staff members like Kevin and RC come up again and again in reviews for patient, genuinely knowledgeable help, and JC is the go-to on the aquatics side.
For anyone in Wentzville or nearby keeping freshwater tanks, Lynn's Exotics & Aquatics is a warm, walk-in fish store that has earned its reputation one visit at a time.

Customer reviews
“We stopped in here recently looking for freshwater fish wanting to explore our options because this one was rated so well we drove 20 min away to check this place out. It was very disappointing to say the least the whole store felt dirty and unkept, cages looked gross and tanks unmaintained, looks as if someone started a bunch of projects and had a hard time staying focused. Personally I will not be going here for anything but maybe it wasn’t always like that”

— Dale Nicolas5.03 days ago“Purchased a hedgehog 🦔 for my girlfriend. They're not cheap on prices, but they're incredibly comforting, sweet, and friendly. They are extremely knowledgeable and practice lots of patience with their customers, making the service, second to none. I completely recommend Lynn's exotics and aquatics to everyone looking for a pet. Definitely 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 worthy.”

— Alexis Dunlap5.0a month ago“Small pet store, but lots of variety. All animals looked healthy, tanks clean, and reasonably priced.”
— Courtney Kassidy4.0Edited a month ago“i used to like this place but it seems like its gone downhill. My friend got some shrimp and also some planaria with it. I have also been told a lot of people have gotten planaria from here. went in to visit a little while back and found out they breed their own guinea pigs that obviously had conjunctivitis. a worker sold a leopard gecko and said “10 gallon, carpet and a heat lamp is all they need” this is insane and obviously workers need to work on their animal education. workers were nice i will give them that, but dont seem like they care where the animals end up”
