About
Coral Reef is a locally owned fish store and full-service pet shop in West Burlington, IA, and for Burlington-area aquarists it has long been the go-to alternative to the big-box chains. " The aquarium side is well stocked for everyday builds. Shoppers find natural rocks and driftwood for aquascaping, tanks, and accessories — one reviewer outfitted a full 120-gallon setup here and had the store price-match what he'd found on Amazon.
MarineLand canister filters are a regular draw, often priced well below what nearby Pet Supplies Plus charges. Coral Reef is also the area's reliable source for reptile feeders, with crickets and roaches available in West Burlington, IA to keep local bearded dragons and other reptiles fed. What keeps people coming back is the staff.
Regulars name Ray and Alex for their patience and willingness to special-order items that aren't on the shelf, and reviewers this spring still single out the knowledgeable, friendly team and the helpful owner who takes time to answer every question. The animals are clean and well kept, the aisles are tidy, and prices stay reasonable. It's best understood as a community fish store and pet shop rather than a high-end reef specialist — solid freshwater stock, dependable equipment, and standout feeders, with a saltwater corner that comes and goes.
For West Burlington and Burlington locals who'd rather support a local business than drive to Davenport, Coral Reef offers healthy fish, feeders, and gear with a genuinely personal touch.

“Awesome store”
— Ronald Welch5.0Edited 3 days ago“Great staff! Good selection.”
— Aaron Batten5.0a week ago“This business sold me a sick bird from the beginning. When I bought the bird and took him home he hasn't eaten for a day and a half. I called them once, they said that it could be stress from moving into a new environment. Fast forward to 2 days after he was eating and seemed healthy. Fast forward to now he's at the bottom of the cage and not moving. The only reason why I gave them 2 stars instead of 1 is because of their hospitality.”
