Heartbreaking experience... About a month ago I set up my tank for my new betta; as a first time fish owner I was very motivated to do everything right--after a week of home test strips I started coming in 3xs a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) to have Fish Aquarium & Stuff test my water to see if it was cycled. On 2/28 when I came in the employee helping me saw my disappointment that my water was still not ready and said the fish my son and I loved so much, could be paid for and saved for us at the shop until our levels were right (this was his suggestion), so that is what we did. I came and said, "Hello Kirby" every time I had my water checked after that. Many of the employees there were kind, some very helpful, however my experience yesterday has turned me off of this place. I came in to get my water checked (a day later than my normal time due to the last employee said my tank would be ready in 72 hours from Monday) and found that they had sold my fish a second time and he was no longer in the store! I was crushed, my son was not with me to pick out another fish at the time. The employee I spoke with then had the nerve to say "it had been so long, we weren't sure you were coming back for the fish"... my name was on it, I could have been contacted if that is what they really thought, then her story changed again "the jar must have been moved from the tag with your name". I hope Kirby went to a good home. I'm glad some people have a good experience here--I would always prefer to shop at my local shop rather than a bigbox store, but unfortunately they do not have a good system in place, and I was given so much conflicting information. I was refunded, but that was not enough for me to give this store another chance.

I asked Google what was the best and highest rated fish store in all of Boise. This is who Google referred me to and Google was not wrong. Thank you people for referring this gentleman. Wonderful prices on his fish, beautiful fish and they're doing fantastic. I can't be more happy. He made my neighbor lady as happy as could be which keeps me happy so she's not talking about fish all the time. Thank you so much!

I 'found' this place about a year ago. It's been there 'forever'... Great selection of fish, snails, etc. Dave is very knowledgeable and has quite the knack for capturing what you want! He's fun to be around.

Unfortunately, I have seen a few negative reviews lately. That's because people haven't got the chance to get to know the people at fish aquariums and stuff. I am disabled, and deal with lots of physical problems. With that being said, I constantly need extra help. One a of the things that I need help with is taking my fish out to my car. You might assume that lots of places would probably be willing to help with this kind of thing. However, sadly that's not the case for some places. I’m proud to say that (Fish Aquariums and Stuff) is not one of those places. Over the years, I have gotten to know many of the staff, and I’m confused about why people have had bad experiences with them. Every single person that works there is kind and caring but most of all knowledgeable about the aquarium trade. I would also say that they are humble enough to admit if they don’t understand something or if they’re not knowledgeable and a certain field and they will find someone that is. This is an amazing trait and the two people that I know the most are T.J. and Dave, and Bill the owner, these people will treat you with kindness, just be sure to treat them with kindness. I think the biggest thing is, if you need help and you want help then go ahead and approach someone. I think the biggest thing that I see that people complain about is that no one approaches them. I can tell you from experience that if this place is bustling busy then they don’t have the ability to stop helping someone to approach you and instead they give you space without being pushy. To me this is an important thing, I don’t like it when people are pushy. P.S., here is some pictures of my newest tank that they helped me with. It is awesome and I've never done a nano planted tank so this was fun and they were extremely patient with all the million questions I had. THANK YOU FISH AQUARIUMS AND STUFF, you have a lifelong Patron here. -Jeremy, AKA the cool guy in a Wheelchair :P
