About
Tucked into a Garden Grove shopping center, The Fin Shop has earned a devoted following among Southern California freshwater hobbyists, and its reputation rests above all on discus. Multiple display tanks hold vibrant discus in a range of morphs and sizes, and reviewers consistently single out the strong body shapes, rich coloration, and healthy fish. One customer happily drives more than an hour each way for the quality, and another said the food the staff recommended had his discus glowing brighter within three days.
This family-owned shop is run by people who clearly know the species they sell; Tam and Huy are mentioned by name again and again for patiently coaching customers through water parameters, feeding, and proper acclimation, and staff have been known to refuse to sell discus that hadn't fully settled after travel. Beyond discus, the freshwater lineup runs deep. The Fin Shop carries one of the larger betta selections in Orange County, with both sorority-tank females and individually displayed males, alongside angelfish in hard-to-find morphs, flowerhorns, parrot cichlids, African cichlids, rainbow fish, corydoras, Oranda goldfish, and a growing nano fish section.
Shoppers hunting something uncommon or after the best angelfish for sale in Garden Grove, CA will find plenty to study tank by tank, with live plants and fair pricing rounding out the visit. The store also stocks fish food, medications, tanks, and basic aquarium equipment, and the team will special-order species they don't currently have on the floor. The front display tanks draw steady praise for being spotless and professionally kept; a few visitors have noted the rear sections can be less consistent, so it is worth a careful look before you buy.
For discus keepers and serious freshwater enthusiasts anywhere near Orange County, this fish store remains a genuine destination worth the drive.

— Michael Diaz5.02 months ago“I wanted to check out a new spot. At first the entrance seems nice with bright color. A bit of blooming algae but that's normal. But going farther in you see many fish casualty. Alote of white spot disease. Since it's extremely easy to spread. It's hard to trust it won't spread to tank mates or even other systems assuming the filtration is link all together.”
