About
Tiki's Tropical Fish in Bellflower, California has earned a loyal following over the years with its extensive inventory of both freshwater and saltwater fish, competitive pricing, and a staff that customers genuinely enjoy interacting with. The store stocks a remarkably deep selection of tropical species — reviewers regularly mention finding rare and hard-to-find fish they'd been hunting for months, including uncommon picks like bumblebee groupers. It's the kind of place where you walk in for saltwater fish and walk out with a pair of budgies, because the inventory extends well beyond aquatics into birds, reptiles, tarantulas, scorpions, and small mammals.
The aquarium section is the main draw, with rows of display tanks covering freshwater tropicals, saltwater species, and pond fish. Several customers mention stocking both outdoor ponds and indoor aquariums from Tiki's selection. Live plants and general aquarium supplies round out the offerings, so you can leave with a complete setup.
The pricing is a point that comes up again and again — reviewers call the deals unbeatable compared to competing fish stores in the greater Los Angeles area. The staff, including the well-loved Uncle Sammy and the two brothers who help run the shop, are a big part of why people keep coming back. They're described as genuinely helpful, willing to discuss proper care and husbandry, and personable enough that families with young children feel welcome browsing.
Multiple long-time customers mention years of loyalty to the store. It's worth noting that some reviewers have raised concerns about the condition of non-fish animals — reptiles and invertebrates in particular — and a few have reported fish health issues after purchase. The aquarium side of the operation generally receives stronger marks, with most customers praising clean tanks and healthy-looking fish.
For anyone in Bellflower or the surrounding South Bay communities looking for a well-stocked local fish shop with personality and genuinely affordable prices, Tiki's Tropical Fish delivers a browsing experience that feels more like visiting a mini aquarium than a retail store.

“My experience was tiring because I walked home from Mayfair High School. I saw the mice and was about to save one from suffocating but that was something dillussionally thought. I saw the fishes too but I left before it got dark.”

— Maria E5.02 weeks ago“First time there today... the bird section was dirty and disgusting... the 1 tarantula i saw was in a glass tank with no water, soil or hides... the 1 leopard gecko i saw was also housed in a similar glass tank that was horribly too small for him with no water, soil, hides or proper lighting... while a good amount of the fish in the display tanks looked good, going around the rest of the actually inventory you can see alot of the fish were with improper tankmates... and almost all of them were either missing eyes, scales, had fin rot, swim bladder issues or had very obvious bacterial infections... this was by far one of the worst aquatic/animal shops i have seen in a long time... heartbreaking and disappointing”
