Absolute 10/10 experience buying fish here. I wasn’t really looking for new fish especially online as i was weary about the shipment process and trusting a company to pick the fish out for me. I was not disappointed in the slightest for quality of fish and the customer service they hold themselves to. I posted a random question on a mbuna facebook page and the owner, Huzaifa, promptly messaged me answering said question and to check out his website. Well, I can confidently say I will absolutely be ordering from here again. He showed me some more pictures of the mbuna species he had in stock and showed me all available times that he could ship to me. He assured me I was able to pick a day that worked best for me as one of my biggest fears was I’d have fish waiting for me at my doorstep for hours. I was able to pick a perfect pick-up time, even meaning he would have to drop the fish off at the airport at 6am due to time zone differences. After seeing the pictures of A1 quality fish and with the transparency and communication with Huzaifa, i was sold. We proceeded to chat back and forth over the next couple of days while he answered every question I had regarding colors, behaviors and everything in between. He even gave me a hand written write up of everything that would be compatible with my current stock, including aggression levels, with his best quality and personal favorites. Seriously, customer service was absolutely amazing. He never pushed for me to buy fish whatsoever as I had told him about my suspicions and possible personal issues with spending the money. He gave me time and space for me to figure out what I wanted to do, which I really appreciated. Needless to say, I purchased 15 mbuna through them and they all arrived super healthy and already colored up in the bags. There was even a shipping delay due to a snow storm, completely out of their control, and they threw in an extra elongated mozambique for the troubles. Insane! Honestly, turned out to be my favorite fish of the bunch as the quality and coloration were top notch. It’s been 48 hours now and every one of the fish are doing amazing and even more colorful than expected! I couldn’t be more stoked! If you’re on the fence about buying fish online or worried about the quality you’d be receiving, rest assured that cichlodian has you covered! They gained a lifetime customer here and, again, 10/10 all around! Seriously, do not hesitate to order from here, you will not be disappointed. Ive added some pics of the new stock in holding tanks waiting to be added to my 75 rock haven! Pictures do not do them justice!

An absolute perfect buying experience. Even though the fish I ordered were delayed in Baltimore a few hours due to snow, they made it safe, sound and warm. Very nice fish. Special thanks to one of the owners Huzaifa for the incredible customer service and detailed chats about fish. It’s just like getting fish from your good friend who just happens to be an African cichlid expert! I will be ordering more!

Best looking, high quality Mbuna i have seen in awhile. I went to their place of buisness and was able to hand select my fish. They are a smaller breeder, but breed very high quality cichlids. I will be ordering more soon from them for sure. I got to see the entire process first hand from tanks to packaging. very profesional friendly!

This is hands down the best cichlid distributor in the US! They’re very kind and extremely knowledgeable. They help you along your journey, teaching and sharing their knowledge. I personally ordered some Mbuna, and they’re all beautiful and healthy. This will be the only company I’ll ever order from. I rate them 10/10, best in the business!

I can't say enough about Cichlodian! This was probably the best service I've had in many years of fish keeping. I wanted to try mbuna for the first time, and Huzaifa really took the time to help me out and get me a great group of mbuna to start out with.
