About

Tucked inside Regency Square Mall in Henrico, VA, Click & Fish Aquatics is a dense, old-school freshwater fish store where tanks climb from floor to ceiling and nearly every row turns up something you won't find at a big-box chain. Owner Milon runs the shop himself, and regulars describe pulling up a stool to talk tank mates, plants, and water quality with him for as long as it takes — one couple who visits weekly calls him a friend as much as a shopkeeper. That hands-on guidance is the heart of the place.

The livestock leans toward the unusual end of the hobby. Shoppers come specifically for healthy freshwater fish for sale in Henrico, VA: fancy guppies, a rotating cast of rare and oddball species, and the blue phantom plecos that longtime customers photograph in their finished tanks. The axolotls are a destination of their own — a wall of colors that hang lazily wherever they please — and recent visitors have left with platinum white dwarf frogs they hadn't seen stocked anywhere else in town.

Shrimp keepers rate the colony stock among the best around, and the snails and other invertebrates move just as quickly. For planted-tank builders, the live plant and driftwood selection gives real material to work with, and Milon walks first-timers through aquascaping, substrate, and species compatibility rather than just ringing them up. Several reviewers note that he quarantines new arrivals before they go up for sale, and many credit the long-term health of their fish to that care.

Pricing stays competitive, with some of the cheapest used tanks in the Richmond area sitting alongside reasonable livestock. If you're hunting for a planted-tank or axolotl fish store near me in the Henrico and greater Richmond area, Click & Fish rewards the kind of hobbyist who cares more about what's in the tanks than what's on the walls. Stop in, grab a stool, and ask Milon anything.

  • “Don't deserve any stars came to the store for the first time and others were helped before me And the guy didn't even ask if I needed help. He was so worried to help everyone that came in after me. First and last time I'm never going back. I'll stick to skool's of fish or fin and feather 😞😞😞😡😡😡”

  • “Purchased some male fancy guppies a few weeks ago. All of them are healthy and thriving. Will definitely be back for more after I upgrade to a larger tank.”

  • “Unkept, cramped, trash scattered everywhere, dirty, large fish in far too small of tanks, nothing was labeled, axolotls were skinny and unhealthy looking, and very little variety other than the guppies overrunning every other tank. I had heard amazing things about this store and was very disappointed when I finally found the time to go. There were some cool rare fish, but most of them weren't for sale anyway and belonged to the owner.”

  • “Every time I try to come here, they're marked opened on Google, but the store front is closed. Have not actually been able to shop here, but have tried on at least 5 different occasions.”

  • “Very unkempt, dirty tanks, highly overwhelmed. While I was in as a customer I had the good fortune of having to hear the owner tell a story to a frequent customer about a recent invertabrae purchase at his store that had died before the crab got home and he refused to accept accountability nor refund the purchase. Not once, as I perused the aisles for at least 15 minutes did said owner acknowledge my presence or ask if he could help with anything. Do NOT buy anything from those nasty tanks. IF those fish were dogs, puppies or cats being kept in those conditions we would be appalled and the owner would be in handcuffs. Shame on him and shame on the owners of Regency Square Mall for allowing such a nasty, detrimental business to exist on their property. Disgusting.”

  • “Great little aquatics shop! Purchased some beautiful healthy snails this weekend and some really beautiful platinum white dwarf frogs last weekend that I hadn't seen in any other shops. The tanks were very stocked well, nice assortment and healthy fish, Much more than I can say for some other aquarium shops in town! As far as these negative comments, it really shows that people don't understand how difficult it is to run a small business by yourself. The owner is a very nice man with a wealth of knowledge. And it's clear he's hearing the input and working hard making improvements to the store. Give him a chance and have some compassion!”

  • “Great service, honest feedback, and happy fish! Prices are great for the fish quality.”

  • “The store hours are misleading. The owner was extremely rude and unprofessional. Edit: After posting this review, the owner responded publicly in a way that focused on questioning my motives rather than addressing the concern raised. For clarity, the issue was simply that the posted store hours were confusing and did not match the actual availability when we arrived. Instead of clarifying the hours or acknowledging the feedback, the owner chose to accuse me of going around leaving negative reviews and suggested I should “be supportive” of small businesses. I am very supportive of small businesses—that’s exactly why I visit and shop at them. Honest feedback is part of that support. If the hours have since been clarified, that’s great. My goal in leaving the review was simply to help future customers avoid the same confusion we experienced. Edit 2: Since my last update, the owner has deleted their public reply to this review. I’m noting that for completeness and context. We also waited approximately 15 minutes past the stated opening time, and the store still did not open. My original concern remains the same: the posted hours were misleading and did not match the store’s actual availability when we arrived.”
