Tucked inside Regency Square Mall in Henrico, Virginia, Click & Fish Aquatics is the kind of place where tanks stretch from floor to ceiling and every corner reveals something unexpected — a blue phantom pleco drifting past driftwood, a cluster of colorful axolotls, or a freshwater shrimp colony that would make a planted-tank devotee's heart skip. Owner Milon has built a loyal following not just through his sprawling inventory of tropical fish, live plants, snails, and invertebrates, but through his genuine investment in every customer's success. Reviewers drive over an hour — from Charlottesville and beyond — specifically for the kind of obscure and unique freshwater species you simply won't find at big box stores.
African dwarf frogs, rare plecos, and a rotating cast of unusual fish fill the densely packed rows of tanks. The live plant selection is equally impressive, with Milon offering hands-on guidance about aquascaping, substrate choices, and plant care that has turned first-time tank owners into confident hobbyists. Driftwood options are plentiful, giving aquascapers real material to work with.
What sets Click & Fish apart is the consultation experience. Milon will pull up a stool and walk you through tank setup, species compatibility, water quality, and the small details that make the difference between a struggling aquarium and a thriving one. Multiple reviewers describe him as a friend as much as a shopkeeper — someone who answers phone calls with the same patience he shows in person.
Several customers specifically mention the health and longevity of fish purchased here compared to chain store alternatives. Pricing is competitive, with some of the cheapest used tanks in the Richmond area alongside reasonable livestock prices. The store has an old-school, no-frills charm — think densely stocked aisles rather than polished showroom — that appeals to hobbyists who care more about what's in the tanks than what's on the walls.
For the Henrico freshwater community, Click & Fish is the real deal.

After tiring of the impersonal, rude experience at big box pet stores we stumbled across this gem hidden at Regency mall. It's a fascinating "old-school" aquarium store, with tanks stacked ceiling high and every nook and cranny filled with unique fish, amphibians, and crustaceans. I've made multiple purchases for my son's tank and we've been pleased each time. The owner is knowledgeable and passionate about the hobby, and will spend time teaching any customer about aquarium design and fish health. He really wants your pets to be as well in your home as in his tanks! Support this local small business; you'll receive better quality and service at the same price as the big stores. At the very least stop in and marvel at his selection!
