Aquatek Tropical Fish

Aquatek is a long-standing Austin tradition for fish pet shops. It had a different location farther south on Burnet several years ago that I actually preferred and probably gave them better visibility but now they are the corner of a strip mall and a little bit hidden from the main road. They have a large selection of both freshwater and salt, water, fish, and some invertebrates. They have a great selection of accessories and also have some supplies for terrariums. I wish they had a little bit more exotic fish, it seems like they used to a long time ago. They’re closed on Wednesdays so keep that in mind.

Aquatek is hands down my favorite fish store! The fish all look super healthy and active, which says a lot about how well they’re taken care of. Aaron, the owner, really knows his stuff. He actually takes the time to listen and give solid advice, whether you're just getting started or already have a setup going. They’ve got an awesome selection of fish, plus all the gear and supplies you need. I always end up finding something cool when I stop by. It’s a great spot with good vibes and people who genuinely care about what they do. Big thanks to Aaron and the crew—I'll definitely keep coming back!

Thank you, Adam, for sharing your knowledge with me! He is so passionate about what he does and was so patient with me and my laundry list of questions. Will be coming back to learn more and continue my tank(s) journey. 100% recommend the membership also!

Aquatek is a beautiful store with an excellent variety of fish and accessories. We always receive excellent customer service from the owner and all of the employees, and Adam and Kate have been extremely helpful in assisting us with our fish and plant selections. We highly recommend this store for any aquarium or aquatic plant needs.

We've always loved Aquatek, their employees are generally wonderful and helpful, the store always has a fantastic selection of fish (plus other aquatic animals) and accessories. This time however, was exemplary. Emily was extremely helpful, and so so patient with my toddler who asks never ending questions. She even pointed out a loach to him, which he has loving dubbed his seel (snake, eel), after listening to him ask her all the questions and point out all the fish he was interested in.
