Under The Sea Aquatics

I love this store. The fish are always healthy and happy. Great selection of both fish and supplies/natural decor. The owners are always very nice and it's obvious they know a lot about their fish. I've over heard them giving great recommendations about tank mates to new customers. I've bought many plants and fish here that are all doing well. There are many reviews about rudeness or dress code... I've never had that experience or even a bad experience at all, regardless of what I was wearing. I never got the impression that what I was wearing was being judged. The perk of owning your own business would include requiring a certain dress, so I would be understanding if it was brought up respectfully.

I love the selection they have and the quality of everything is amazing! However I will say I was absolutely STUNNED when I was told to leave because of my outfit. I was wearing a t shirt and a skirt that came maybe 3 inches above my knee, and I’m “assuming” because the owner’s husband doesn’t know how to control where his eyes go. First time in my life where I felt like I looked good in a skirt, only to be told “show some modesty” I understand there’s nothing that can be done due to the fact that it is THIER business. But I shouldn’t have been talked to like that and it was extremely rude. They immediately changed their rude tones to VERY FRIENDLY once they saw how much we were purchasing😂

Absolutely amazing store! Such a great selection of fish, and the owners make a point to help get in whatever fish you want! I had so much trouble finding Khuli loaches at every store, and I got a personal call when they came in. Jackie and her husband who run the store are such gems. This store is vital to all of the aquarium hobbyists in the area, they're one of only two Aquarium Co-Op partnered stores in the entire state of South Carolina. Walking into the store just for fun the first time really ignited my love for fishkeeping. If the store ever leaves, it will be devastating.

I absolutely love this place. The store is the only place I go to get fish and supplies for my fish. I am a newer fish tank owner, and they were more than happy to teach me how to be a more responsible tank owner. You can get anything from freshwater to saltwater fish. Since I started working with them, I have successfully set up two thriving freshwater fish tanks that have beautiful fish. If you want to have a fish tank and actually have the fish stay alive, skip the big box stores and come to Under the Sea Aqudics for all your aquarium needs. More pictures to come when I visit again. The woman who was working was very kind and knowledgeable, and she helped me pick out live plants that would be good for my betta tank, as well as products to keep the plants thriving. I loved looking at the different tanks in the store and how the live plants for sale were incorporated in. The tanks were well-maintained and well taken care of, and it’s clear that the owners prioritize the wellbeing of their fish!
