By far, the best aquarium shop in the Cincinnati and tri-state area. Great selection, many rare fish, good prices, and knowledgeable staff. The kicker is, all fish are quarantined before being placed for sale. 5 stars !!!

This is probably my favorite aquascaping and tropical fish stores in the area. Very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful staff. I have a tendency to do a lot of "ne4d talk" when it comes to planted aquariums and the gentleman who helped me was great and easily carried on the conversation with me. Just something that I appreciate when it comes to stores like this and is very helpful for customers with a lot of questions. Their livestock appear to be healthy. I've bought several shrimp from here and they have a great selection. Their selection of freshwater plants is not vast but worth the visit none the less. They have a great selection of products overall and if you're into aquascaping, planted aquariums or tropical fish, this place should be a top consideration.

This is a great shop with a wide variety of products and fish, as well as an educated and informative staff who takes great care of the store and its aquatic life. My husband and I are in the process of cycling a tank in preparation for a Betta fish. This is our first fish and we've done a lot of research to ensure we're able to provide our new family member with a happy, healthy life. However, we wanted a little bit of professional guidance/encouragement to ensure all of our bases were covered. That's where Finspiration came in! When we walked into the store, we were immediately impressed by the wide variety of tanks, tank maintenance accessories and decor, fish food and supplements, and live plants. In the back of the store, which is much larger, there were hundreds of tanks housing thousands of fish, shrimp, snails, crabs, rays, plants, and so much more! It was amazing to see every Betta fish in a reasonably sized tank with live plants and appropriate tank mates (not a cup - I'm looking at you, PetSmart). The prices were all very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the fish and the conditions of their tanks. The cost of live plants was a little higher than your average pet store, but it's totally worth it. All of the plants are grown in tanks, not in plastic containers on shelves. The cost of all of the merchandise was pretty comparable to a big box store (I expected a higher markup and was pleasantly surprised) and they only seemed to carry top quality brands. After about 5 minutes of browsing, a young gentleman approached us and asked if we needed help. I told him we were looking around for now, but I'd want to buy a couple of plants during today's visit. After about 10 more minutes of examining all of the beautifully maintained tanks, I approached the gentleman and asked for his recommendation on live plants, for a Betta fish, that didn't require substrate to survive. I explained that we were about to purchase a Betta and I was cycling the tank first. He asked a few questions about the setup and he commended some of my intentions with the tank and offered advice where he felt like I needed it. We ended up purchasing an appropriately sized variety of anubias and some Christmas moss. We will definitely be back for a Betta and mystery snail!! Wish list: Please keep filling up the store! You already have such a great variety; I can't wait until you take advantage of all that awesome space! Also, I'd love it if you decided to carry ghost shrimp at some point. Note: Regarding the reviews about their lack of customer service - please take those with a grain of salt. You shop here for the quality of the products, the health of the aquatic life, and the KNOWLEDGE of the staff. If you want smiles and customer service and unhappy fish, go to PetSmart. Otherwise, go check out Finspiration! (For the record, we had a great experience with both of the staff members we interacted with.)

The staff are friendly, helpful, attentive, and knowledgeable. They’ve helped us to build strong thriving community tanks and have saved us from possibly destroying them by making “pretty purchases”. Every time we’ve bought from them, their first question is, “What else do you have in the tank and how big is your aquarium?”. They sell responsibly. They get to know the abilities of your aquarium before selling you something your tank can’t handle and are definitely our go to for questions when we’ve had tank issues such as ammonia spikes and algae blooms. We haven’t had any issues with our fish, snails, plants, or accessories from them. You absolutely have to check out their driftwood options!!
