Nice selection of freshwater fish. Great customer service. They didn't have what I was looking for but helped me find other community fish that pair well as tank mates until what I am looking for are in stock. I ended up purchasing Corydoras that have orange fins and small rainbow fish.

Came here for a quick visit to check out aquarium stores in the area. The prices were fair, and the staff were incredibly friendly and I felt like they were incredibly passionate about what they're doing. Absolutely recommend!

The owner was very bright and knowledgeable, personable, and ready to help with all my aquatic needs. He answered all questions I had, and all his livestock from salt to freshwater were kept in pristine condition, and their tanks were amazing! I will definetly be shopping at Blue Hook again. Any species they didnt have, they had the options to get them in upon request. I was very impressed! Smaller fish shop, but big impact!!! 100% recommend.

I had heard a lot of good things about this place, that they have healthy fish and a wide variety of options. So, I decided to check it out for myself. I came all the way—20 miles—for this place, paying almost $40 for a Lyft ride to get there and another $40 to head back. When I arrived, I started exploring the different types of fish they had. Honestly, I was a bit surprised by how limited their selection was, but I figured it might just be because they were sold out of certain species. When I finally chose a fish to buy, things started to feel off. The staff member there kept pushing me to buy more—saying I had to get this, that, and the other thing, or else my fish wouldn’t survive. Since he seemed like he had experience in the field, I took his advice to heart, thinking he knew what he was talking about. But then, when I went to pay, something else happened that made me uncomfortable. I was charged an extra $5, which I didn’t notice while I was in the store. When I asked about it, he handed me a card for the extra charge, but with a 10-day expiration date. That was the moment it all hit me: this was the same store everyone had recommended, and yet, the whole experience felt so off. It was shocking and honestly pretty disappointing to see that this place wasn’t what I had been led to believe.

Awesome place to buy fish. And definitely know what he’s talking about. Great selection. Great place and will keep going!!! Love my tank!
