The Evolved Fish

I’ve been going to pet shops both chain and “hole in the wall” places all of my life, andthis place hands down has the most diverse lineup i’ve ever seen! The guy running the place is great too. Super super informational about anything he has or can special order for you. I literally drove by this place everyday for 2 years until discovering what was less than a mile down the road from me! Def an experience the first time you go!

This is my favorite LFS. We have a few closer shops but gladly drive further out to go to the Evolved Fish. The owner and all the staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. The variety of fish, invertabrates, and plants is amazing. All the tanks are taken care of well and everything is priced so well.

This place for everything fish is the real deal! I recently moved to Asheville and set up my small 10 gallon tank. I was hoping to get some cool cichlids but knew space would be a challenge. After explaining my situation and desires, I was expertly guided in what to do to get my tank ready for some shell-dwelling multies. To get it done right, I was sent home with some basic live-bearers to help condition my tank water for the more complex future residents. I was then guided to return after some time to come get my desired species. The knowledge at this store is extremely comprehensive. If you want aquarium fish (even special orders), go here first by all means. You’ll see what I mean. 5-stars all around.

Stopped by this fish store after visiting the Fairview Library with my middle schooler, and we were amazed! It felt like touring a mini aquarium—so many beautiful fish to choose from, both freshwater and saltwater. The turtles were so curious, and we were fascinated by the saltwater eel. The owner is very friendly, and all the animals look healthy and well cared for. If you have the chance to visit, don’t hesitate—you won’t regret it!

Great store! The manager really helped me out getting a tank set up. Their fish (and also plants) are stunning and healthy. If you live anywhere in the area I wouldn't even consider big pet stores for your fish. Friendly and helpful!
