## About

C-MACS Aquarium has carved out a loyal following in Charlotte as a co-op aquarium store that punches well above its weight. The shop may be compact, but reviewers consistently praise the quality of its tank environments and the health of the fish on display. Walk in and you'll find a strong selection of both freshwater and saltwater species, with particular standouts in their live plant inventory — one customer called the plant selection "fantastic" — and their betta collection, which draws hobbyists from hours away.

The staff at C-MACS is a major reason people keep coming back. They're the type to answer every question, advise on tank size and care requirements before a purchase, and even pack a styrofoam cooler for a customer driving two and a half hours home with a new betta. That kind of personal touch has turned casual visitors into dedicated hobbyists. Multiple reviewers credit the team's consultation and relationship-building with deepening their commitment to the aquarium hobby.

Pricing is another draw. Customers note that C-MACS stays competitive, offering solid prices on fish and aquarium products without sacrificing livestock quality. The store stocks a broad range of dry goods and supplies alongside its live inventory, making it a practical one-stop for Charlotte-area fishkeepers.

The atmosphere is welcoming enough that families stop by just to look at the fish — no purchase necessary — and the staff never makes them feel unwelcome. It's a locally owned operation with a community-minded spirit that comes through in every interaction.

C-MACS does enforce a strict 24-hour return policy on livestock, which is worth knowing upfront. But for the vast majority of customers, the combination of healthy fish, thoughtful guidance, and fair prices makes this the go-to aquarium shop in the Charlotte area. If you're building a planted tank, stocking a reef, or hunting for that perfect betta, this is where Charlotte's fishkeeping community lands.

> We love this co-op aquarium store!! My little one is obsessed with fish these days but I don't want a tank because they're a lot of work and we have a 😺. Nobody minds that we just go on to look at the pretty 🐠🐟. They're always warm and welcoming

> Got my betta from here in June and absolutely love him. I live about 2 and half hours from here but was in Charlotte for the day and wanted to see what bettas they had since i had no luck finding one i wanted from any websites or fish stores near me. The employees were so friendly and helpful and went above and beyond for me. They answered all my questions and even gave me a small styrofoam cooler to keep my betta in since i had a few hours until i was able to make it home. I would definitely go back in the future! Now my betta (norman) is happy and healthy and i couldn’t be happier with him. Thank you C-MACS!!
Added pictures to show how vibrant he’s gotten since i got him.

> I had 3 crayfish die with in 48 hours I tried to go in to see if they could do something for me for compensation and I get the 24-hour policy excuse. “Why didn't you call us” etc.ect.
This store will not stand behind their product and clearly does not care about their customer base. I try to support local businesses but when they don't care about their loyal customers it's better to go to PetSmart. PetSmart stands behind their product and will refund you. They know how to keep customers.

> First time visiting this store and I was very impressed. Although it may be a bit tight on space the quality of their fish and tank environments make up for it.

I found the staff extremely helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. I will be returning for my future aquarium needs.

> I cannot say enough about this store and their owners/operators. They are very friendly, down to earth people and experts in the aquarium space. I would not be into the hobby the way I am today without their consult and the relationship they have built with me. Local owned, small company that deserves your business.
